My sons are 46 & 50, they had chores when young and while we tried to make work fun, and never asked of them what we didn't do ourselves, much was required of them here on the homestead. My husband has now passed away and they are such a blessing to me. You are wise to teach your children how to do things and be part of the family. It blesses me to watch your videos. Blessings.

My mom, sister, and I would walk through the woods harvesting ground pine to make wreaths. She would sometimes just use a sturdy coat hanger and bend it into a circle for the wreath form.
Nothing beats home made greenery for the holidays. I do the same thing. Inky is so into Christmas decorating with you ,lol. Merry Christmas to you and your family and everyone who watches your videos. GOD is GOOD!

This is exactly how I decorate for the holidays. I am harvesting my greens and dogwood and berries today and will put it all together.
The cost of the planters and wreaths just blow my mind. I have a stash of bows from previous years and reconfigure and rotate those. Happy Holidays everyone.

I learned how to make a wreath in Girl Scouts using a potato as the center, which keeps all the greenery alive. We put the hanger and extra shoulder from wire clothes hangers. BTW I'm 70 and still do this❤
When I was young, one of our favorite things was going places in our dad's old truck. It was like being in a parade. What a fun day and the porch looks wonderful. Thank you.

Easy peasy and quick. Most times is the prettiest. Just throw some more zip ties in hubbies stocking. Or maybe the kids can put some in your stocking so you have them in the house. I also use them for a lot of things.
We went and cut our own tree on land with a tag. I had to trim it when we got home and had the branches sitting on the back porch. I am so excited for this tutorial!

Inky wants back in the house!😂 I brought greenery in and arranged it in a large vase with some artificial poinsettias in place of a Christmas tree. It takes up less space but still looks festive.😊🤗

Great to see you mid-week. I love using natural greenery for Christmas decorations, i think it turned out beautiful. And I love that your children have chores. I taught my children to do chores too.
Your Christmas greenery is so pretty. It was very nice of your neighbor to let you go take cuttings. I notice that you were very careful about how much you pruned any one tree. The white branches really set off the arrangement and the red berries were so pretty too. I love a fresh wreath and have them on both sides of my door so the inside will smell as good as the outside. Inky loves the holidays too. What an affectionate cat, so fluffy too. (We had a black rabbit named Inky who was not so affectionate. In fact he had deadly aim for my brothers! Lol)

I make my wreathes by stretching a coat hanger into a round space and then bend hanger bend the hook around to make the holder.

I love the decorations of pines. I hato say i really enjoyed seeing your kitties. I was so excited hear the name of your black cat. We had a black cat we called Inky. He was big, sleek, 7 toes on his front paws which he used just like hands. He weight 15 pounds. I miss the cat.
Inky is quite chunky right now and is probably close to 10 lbs.
I never thought of using zip ties. That would make it so much easier on my hands. I used some vines from around the property to make a wreath this fall we don’t have many evergreens around for me to get greenery.
