  • It's time to upgrade my very basic Solar Electric project. Will Prowse with DIY Solar Power is an amazing resource, but it's time to upgrade and I still have questions (and need advice) that I hope someone is willing to help me with. First and foremost, are the Growatts, MPP, EG4, etc, combined charge and inverter systems as inefficient as they appear? Thank you for any help.

You said in the video you want to run a small AC unit (5k btu?) And refrigerator- that 2k inverter should handle it. I would get a second battery in parallel to double your battery bank, wiring is series to 48V wont increase your capacity, and you will need a 48v inverter.

I built my 24 volt system. With 1200 watts of solar 6s2p I used 2 24 volt 100ah Li Time batteries. A Victron 150/45 charge controller. And a 3000 watt Aims Low frequency inverter it runs Right at 23 watt idle consumption. If you want a system that will Last for years use a Heavy Duty Low frequency Transformer inverter

That sounds great. It sounds like you don't have any AC input. How did you use the power? Thanks for responding.
