We’re heading to Akaroa - Christchurch’s French and wildlife-filled town. When we (eventually) arrive in Akaroa this evening we join Pohatu Penguins for one of their evening penguin tours in Akaroa. If you want to know where to see penguins in Akaroa then watch this video!
The Akaroa penguin tour begins with a scenic drive toward Flea Bay, stopping at some sensation viewpoints along the way. When we arrive at the Akaroa penguin colony, we first feed a crazy amount of sheep, before watching a blue penguin chick feeding as part of their rehabilitation. From there, we check penguin nesting boxes and watch penguins return from sea along the cliffs of Flea Bay.
