This shotgun reminds me a bit of the "drillings" I saw being used by some hunters while I was stationed in what was then West Germany back in the 1980s. Two shotgun barrels over a single rifle barrel were the most common. Depending on how much the weapon cost/was worth you could also find them with side-by-side rifle barrels with a single shotgun barrel underneath, those were the REALLY pricy ones and tended to have some serious engraving and inlays on the receivers and super nice wood. $2,000 might have made for a halfway decent down payment on one the second variety back then assuming you could find one for sale. Excellent video as usual and one that shows the practicality of such a design.

But on the pay of an E-5 with a wife and daughter to provide for I would have had to sell off a kidney or other favorite body part to afford one. The Army would have frowned on such a tradeoff. I think the three barreled shotgun is a great idea but if the manufacturer suddenly decided to start producing a "drilling" I might just have to sell off something here in my old age, such as a much beloved Savage 99 or two.
My SxS is a 10 gauge Magnum 33inch extra full choke barrels chamber only in 3 and a half inch Magnum shells only and it has one 24k gold trigger and front bead sight beautiful dark red wood stock beautiful silver engraving of geese and turkeys above the trigger and it's the only back up gun I own when I'm hunting I take the 10 gauge mag with slug on the left and 00000 buck shot on the right im right handed but it always fired the left barrel first for them 50 yard deer shots and then I bring my 308 for them 200 up to 500 yards
I have 2 of the CD 3 I had the 30" barrels then put BUCK KICKER chokes, And as always I use B.R.O outdoors buck shot Data the CD 3 works great anyone who grew up using a SxS the triple is the same,I like it better than my 11-87 super mag
@@carolinacrazyoutdoors i did figure out the barrels Cross at about 40 yards but I've learned when shooting beyond 40 just aim a little more left or right depending on what barrel is up

I know this is about the shotgun, but if I was a betting man, I would not bet against your dad in a shotgun shooting contest. OK, back to the gun. I believe Chiappa is the ones who designed it. I don't know where it is made now, because they don't show it on their web sight. It looks like it can do the job.

It is worth the money for the reliability alone. Mine has NEVER malfunctioned.
