Before I moved to the Philippines I checked to see how safe the area I was thinking of living actually was, I found out some interesting things about different places. There are dangerous places all over the World and parts of the Philippines are no exception, if you plan ahead you can protect yourself.
In this vlog I touch base on an area of the Philippines that may not be the safest to visit and I explain the reasons why. I also inform you of a recent disappearance of a local couple and where it happened and a mystery still til today of the Lewis Grand Hotel owner and what happened to him.
The Philippines is a beautiful place to visit and/or live, be aware of where you're thinking of visiting or choosing to live and you'll be fine.

You really cannot trust the numbers here, many crimes are not reported. Kidnapping may not be labeled as missing person, or not even listed as a crime. Also, no real central system here, so again the numbers can be off.
Because of the high number of Tourist and Expats, Angeles City can be targeted by those with bad intentions. But if you're smart, you can protect yourself. I do not ride a motorbike, and use safer ATMs, then directly into the car. But still have had a couple of closer calls. Then the Euro Hotel had an ATM out front, I had some people watching me. But when I got back to my car, they saw the very large K9 German Shepherd sitting in the front sit, and they walked away.
But if you get drunk and walk around late at night, it is like putting a sign on your back that says rob me. Also, any involvement in illegal stuff, drugs, gambling, etc, is a path for problems. Just think smart, know what is around you, and always keep watching everything.

@@michaelkrombopulos3664 Thailand has just as many issues as the Philippines when in comes to crime. You will find the same problems in Thailand as you do in the Philippines. But it is worst in the Thailand because everything involving law enforcement is in Thai. And you must rely on what you are told the translation is. Many Tourists and Expats have signed paperwork without really 100% knowing what it says and gotten in big trouble.
Then you have the executions of tourist that the police claim are suicides. Please explain how Expats who have been found in Pattaya hog tied, and strangled. It seems that if you are hog tied, it is not possible to then place another rope/ wire tie around your neck.
Your claim of not finding any trouble in Thailand is just wrong.

@@AngelesCityExpatRentalProperty Whens the last time you seen Thai police walking around with sub machine guns in a mall? Or armed guards in a 7eleven? You can tell alot about a country by how many cops you see and how they are armed. Even filippinos that live outside of the PI will tell you its not safe there. Still have maniacs and one never knows when one of them will go off the deep end. Armed robberies are rare in this area: criminal element knows that people around here are armed or have a weapon within easy reach.

Be very careful in the philippines. I was robbed in my hotel room near Walking Street. This young filipina i just met made me believe i was handsome and wanted to spend the night with me. I should have realized i was going to be robbed because when i invited my new mahal out to dine with me at jollibees she looked into my eyes and said she loved me. Once back to our hotel room she decided to kiss and hug me then when i was not looking she robbed me. She took my heart ❤️ and told me it was hers and that she wanted to live with me. To this day we are still together and while she robbed my heart all for herself i have decided not to press charges.😂

I always tell people to stay in your lane, don't get off the beaten path, don't get involved with the "wrong" woman, and don't get involved in any business or money deal. When there are disputes, Filipinos tend to settle things off the books.
I am surprised you mentioned LY because most long-time locals are frankly too scared to even talk about it. It is pretty much understood what happened, but I wouldn't be surprised if the case is cracked someday and that there are folks arrested. The story would make a great movie.

Mindanao was always off limits to Gi's. Had a wealthy friend that his brother got kidnapped and paid close to $5000....paid and brother was released and got rekidnapped a month later when they realized how wealthy his brother was. Paid again and was again released. It's crazy. Also Tarloc is full of the Huk's which do not like foreigners. History proves it. FJ Cruiser @ the 6:30 mark. Thanks for sharing this video!!

Your information about Marawi and Mindano is somewhat out of date. It has cleaned up greatly. There are many vloggers who've been there, and it's nothing like it was 10 to 15 years ago. Angeles is much more dangerous than the vast majority of Mindano.

its about a month and a half old current conditions report from that region so your out of date claim is wrong, maybe you should do some research yourself before listening to hearsay from others

Well, I'm only referencing decent Philippines life vloggers like becomingfilipino and kumander daot who both have extensive guides they have recently done in that area on the ground. Of course, one needs to be careful, but i only said things are much better than they were. You should chill a bit, the stats online can be very subjective, but no need to get butt hurt.

Most Western countries have a 'do not go' posted about southern and western Mindanao but Philip Bigg is loving it down there. i think kidnappings there maybe be religion based for ransom, whereas other areas maybe drug deals gone wrong or political or grudge kidnappings. there are bad eggs every country tho. Live in Davao since 1998 and have never had an issue. The city is well policed and very safe. Yes, sure, there are certain areas to avoid as it's better to be safe than sorry. As a Westerner best to avoid flashing the cash, integrate, learn the language then you will be less recognized as a rich westerner there for the taking. Most kidnapping, murders etc usually involve big money transactions, land disputes. At the end of the day is anywhere in the world truly safe? Remember 9/11 in NY and 7/7 in London. Just have your wits about you as you would back home.
