A note on tankers, their may be times u have to wear Chemical suit . It gets hot. Chemical tankers is a great way to make money. no weigh problem, no sliding tandems, truck and tank is only 12ft 6in high. The length of the truck and trailer is way shorter than the dry van so it's easy to back up into a tight spot at a truck stop or anywhere

The Asian Mai Show i work for the United States postal service I make 25 in hr. Top pay $35 over the years.. is Double time after 8 hrs. each day. (federal job) I work 12 hrs everyday 6 days a week and I don’t make 80k don’t let ppl lie to you. I’ve been trucking for 20 years and amazes me how much truck drivers lie on how much they make. I make about 75k a year. With absolutely excellent benefits plus home everyday. My social life is just as important as my job is.. btw I’ve haul gasoline in a tanker truck in the past and there is no money to be make. Airgas is one of those companies I’ve been driving chemical/gasoline diesel fuel for last 12 years until I got hired with the post office. So truckers lie all the time about how much they make... go find out for yourselves I suggest. All these youtubers brag about how much they make but change jobs every 6 mo. And they start all over again with the lies.. stop pls. Including owner operators .. trucking is set up to make 40 to 80k a year depending what job and how much you work a year

Bringing home $600or $800 a week if that. With $22 an hour for 40 hours and about $36.66 for 30 hours. That’s over $1900 a week. Yeah I would pick the “trash wage” and be home every night. better wages are out here sure. But I don’t know many trucking jobs that are only 40 hours a week. I am sure they exist, I just haven’t found one yet.

Great video. OT is very important when applying for a hourly position. Due to the number of hours drivers typically work many companies do not pay OT. Some pay OT over 40 and the top notch companies pay over 8. There is a difference in paying over 40 and 8 obviously. If this dude is working for a modest wage of $24 an hour and getting 60 hours a week he's making nearly $90k a year. Not bad since he's home every night.

Well this is what Airgas website say not 2 years like the old guy said...1 year of verifiable driving experience in the past 4 years or driving school training.
Graduation from an accredited truck driving school with diploma will count as 1 year of required experience
No preventable accidents of any kind in the last 3 years
No more than 2 minor tickets in the last 3 years
No serious violation ticket (speeding 15+, reckless driving, etc.) in the last 3 years
No suspensions of CDL in the last 3 years except for “Failure to pay child support”

If he is hauling ammonia products for Airgas, he's with Airgas Specialty Products. The pay varies per region. Chicago top scale is right at 31.00/hr with union benefits. Florida about 20-25 per hr with no union, although Airgas benefits are pretty good compared to other companies.

@@theopbeast4854 , you cant haul interstate or hazmat unless your'e 21 yrs old. It might be possible to haul tanker for company hauling liquid food product in local area but, first, I don't think many companies would hire 18yr old for tanker because they would have little experience and cannot go over state lines. Get experience in dry van first then you can think about transition to tanker.

Some good tips on this one but there are risks associated with transporting as well as working with hazmat, especially if you are sensitive to chemicals or have any respiratory condition. Schneider also hauls a lot of latex which some people are allergic to it. I would also say that if your one of those heavy foot drivers this job ain't for you because the danger from liquid surge is real and can lead to roll-overs and other accidents. Better to be more like the tortoise than the hare when it comes to tankers. The money is certainly better than many other gigs but if your career and quality of life is cut short because you were exposed to too many dangerous fumes while handling, because remember, you have to pump the stuff in and out the tank yourself, or from breathing those fumes while asleep inside the cab every night when away from home then...???? This guy seems to have a good gig though because he sleeps in his own bed at home every night and he looks like a big strong guy who can handle those pump hoses better than most.
