Mysterious, yes, but more mysterious than sans? I don't really agree w that,. The whole "they just appeared in town one day," thing is pretty mysterious. Additionally, sans having the knowledge of you dying or the knowledge of timelines, seems pretty mysterious as well. We haven't heard a whole lot about their backstories

Don't forget that Canon Papyrus actually likes puns and even makes one in the game AND is actually a really strong fighter, perhaps even a better fighter than Undyne. As undyne says he's really tough but the only reason he doesn't go all out on you is because he doesn't want to hurt you. If you look at his fight he actually tries to help you in his fight and allows you to get familiar with his moves before bringing harder moves in the fight. Just look at his "normal attack" which I'm sure is actually a normal attack for him. I'm sure his whole fight is just him holding back not to seriously hurt you.

@the Jevil in the game it is stated that their strengths depend on how much they wanna fight and hurt their opponents and so If you say undyne is at her best when she fights you i will believe you because she wants to fight and kill you but one can't say Papyrus is nearly at his best when he is fighting you. The guy is the only character in the entire game that won't even accidentally kill you because he is actively keeping himself from doing actual harm. Even toriel could accidentally kill you but not Paps. So comparing his fight to others isn't fair at all because he is not even trying to actually fight and harm you and so Unlike other bosses, He's not giving it his all.

I feel like canon Papyrus is the only monster (aside from Flowey) who has the ability to truly defeat the human. Instead on killing the human, he focuses on capturing them. We also see signs that he is actually much more tough than sans, and could possibly be even more powerful than him in the genocide route, but his kindness is holding him back. We have seen that in the true pacifist route, Flowey strangles all the monsters, and is able to take their souls. This could mean that by capturing a human, their soul can be taken and absorbed. We know that Papyrus obviously is strong enough to capture you, and if he actually had a better capturing mechanism, may have even had the ability to take your soul if he pleased. Sadly, he is way too much of a sweetheart.

Canon papyrus is actually pretty strong, he's just too kind to try and kill you and will give chances, some papyrus fangames are done pretty good, like disbelief papyrus, he isnt trying to kill you or go bathsh1t on you, he's still pretty kind.

Canon fact: When you die during the sans fight or any other fight, time rewinds because in canon undertale the fight restarts like nothing happened. During the sans fight sans only guess's that hes killed you before. You dont instantly come back and continue fighting. The fight restarts and Sans regains his stamina. (bonus fact: sans doesnt have a flaming blue eye his eye only glows blue/yellow)

Fanon: Sans is a lazy skeleton who tells puns to hide his depression and desperately wants the Genocide and resets to stop, he is the brother of Papyrus who he doesn't want to die over and over again because of the human who keeps killing him because of his naive and innocent personality.

And it is scientifically proven that humans have a power known as "determination" the power to change fate over you and the entire world and it continues to persist even after death allowing humans to come back where they have left off. That's the canonical power we have aside from the ability to reset

If you listen to Papyrus’s phone call dialogue you realize he’s quite smart. More knowledgeable than the fandom gives him credit for. In the genocide route he is MORE than well aware you might hurt him. If you spare him he says he was nervous and thought you were going to do something. He just wants to give you a second chance. There’s a difference between being Optimistic and forgiving ,or just being stupid and naive. Papyrus isn’t either of those.

@@darkk2753 in the asriel dreemurr boss fight, you see sans say things like "just give up, i did.", "why even try?" and etc. There are other factors like his mood (hopelessness and lack of interest), his sleeping patterns, his living conditions (his room), poor appetite and fatigue. Also he knows about the timelines, and how they get reset (even before the player fell down, it was Flowey). Giving him this idea of hopelessness. Hence why he does nothing but standby. He knows he can't do anything to change it. It's only after you kill everyone in the underground he decides to take his stand. Papyrus is one of the reasons he still keeps going, even though he's watched him die countless times. All in all, it's fair to assume Sans is depressed.
In the line “more importantly, is there any left for me?” Papyrus asks about his spaghetti he made you. This implies he is at least excited to try his cooking only after his friends try. Only much later does the spaghetti become finished but instead by the mouse and not papyrus. Maybe papyrus knew someone else wanted to eat his spaghetti and so he waited until everyone was done.
Papyrus will actually fetch the stick in his encounter, and says that he loves to be pet in a phone call. I guess the canine unit rubbed off on him a little.

Literally the truth. The Disbelief AU is one of my favorites because it's a glimpse of what Papyrus could've done when he had the same mindset as Sans during his fight. Mostly all the fandom version of any of the characters, even the AUs versions, are literally destroyed when the fandom gets involved.
my only problem with that au is that it is so redundant in the I BELIEVE IN YOU and that papyrus out of nowhere has a magic eye which is soooo strong it has a flame and is able to summon other monsters with magic, kr also appeared out of nowhere

Don't forget that Canon Papyrus actually likes puns and even makes one in the game AND is actually a really strong fighter, perhaps even a better fighter than Undyne.
As undyne says he's really tough but the only reason he doesn't go all out on you is because he doesn't want to hurt you.
If you look at his fight he actually tries to help you in his fight and allows you to get familiar with his moves before bringing harder moves in the fight.
Just look at his "normal attack" which I'm sure is actually a normal attack for him. I'm sure his whole fight is just him holding back not to seriously hurt you.

@the Jevil in the game it is stated that their strengths depend on how much they wanna fight and hurt their opponents and so If you say undyne is at her best when she fights you i will believe you because she wants to fight and kill you but one can't say Papyrus is nearly at his best when he is fighting you.
The guy is the only character in the entire game that won't even accidentally kill you because he is actively keeping himself from doing actual harm. Even toriel could accidentally kill you but not Paps.
So comparing his fight to others isn't fair at all because he is not even trying to actually fight and harm you and so Unlike other bosses, He's not giving it his all.

I feel like canon Papyrus is the only monster (aside from Flowey) who has the ability to truly defeat the human. Instead on killing the human, he focuses on capturing them. We also see signs that he is actually much more tough than sans, and could possibly be even more powerful than him in the genocide route, but his kindness is holding him back. We have seen that in the true pacifist route, Flowey strangles all the monsters, and is able to take their souls. This could mean that by capturing a human, their soul can be taken and absorbed. We know that Papyrus obviously is strong enough to capture you, and if he actually had a better capturing mechanism, may have even had the ability to take your soul if he pleased. Sadly, he is way too much of a sweetheart.

Canon papyrus is actually pretty strong, he's just too kind to try and kill you and will give chances, some papyrus fangames are done pretty good, like disbelief papyrus, he isnt trying to kill you or go bathsh1t on you, he's still pretty kind.

@@darkk2753 in the asriel dreemurr boss fight, you see sans say things like "just give up, i did.", "why even try?" and etc. There are other factors like his mood (hopelessness and lack of interest), his sleeping patterns, his living conditions (his room), poor appetite and fatigue. Also he knows about the timelines, and how they get reset (even before the player fell down, it was Flowey). Giving him this idea of hopelessness. Hence why he does nothing but standby. He knows he can't do anything to change it. It's only after you kill everyone in the underground he decides to take his stand. Papyrus is one of the reasons he still keeps going, even though he's watched him die countless times. All in all, it's fair to assume Sans is depressed.

In the line “more importantly, is there any left for me?” Papyrus asks about his spaghetti he made you. This implies he is at least excited to try his cooking only after his friends try. Only much later does the spaghetti become finished but instead by the mouse and not papyrus. Maybe papyrus knew someone else wanted to eat his spaghetti and so he waited until everyone was done.
Papyrus will actually fetch the stick in his encounter, and says that he loves to be pet in a phone call. I guess the canine unit rubbed off on him a little.

Yea, like, he is indeed kind and would spare you and give you chances but some fangames make him look weak, but i genuinely didnt find popular fangames where papyrus dies a horrible death and its because he's weak or smthn, he dies because he's kind and giving the player second chances, while i do agree he's kind but he isnt a owo uwu bea, hes strong

The fact that erroneous fandom perception Papyrus immediately goes into “disbelief mode” the second canon Paps says he only likes giving spaghetti to his friends is too perfect.

The Disbelief AU is one of my favorites because it's a glimpse of what Papyrus could've done when he had the same mindset as Sans during his fight.
Mostly all the fandom version of any of the characters, even the AUs versions, are literally destroyed when the fandom gets involved.
my only problem with that au is that it is so redundant in the I BELIEVE IN YOU and that papyrus out of nowhere has a magic eye which is soooo strong it has a flame and is able to summon other monsters with magic, kr also appeared out of nowhere
