The atmosphere of this game was incredible. The gameplay might have been a bit repetitive, the story less immersive than the others and the graphics not as sharp... But my god the feeling of the game was perfect. I could play this game again and again, it's almost perfect
+Dana Schofield You, sir, stated it perfectly. This is exactly why it is my favorite of all
+Dana Schofield You are absolutely right. I love every AC in its own way but I haven't found any AC which has such amazing atmosphere as AC 1. I think the Islamic-Christian culture, that crusade period & Jesper Kyd's unusually beautiful style of music gave it such a boost. which is missing in recent ACs
you neet to see the newest assassins creed
I have seen it..it's gorgeous but it's the era I don't like personally :/
+Dana Schofield Actually the story is the most immersive, since you're tied to the character, instead of the character being a Mary Sue proxy for the player. You do control Altair, but he si a man of his own thoughts, and even actions at the start. Yes, his self-seriousness makes him dull, but it's why he's an assassin, he fits.
While everyone hales AC2 as the most magnificent improvement of the series, I can't go through it with Venice again, yet, I'm on my third AC1 play through. Such a pure game in concept, clean, authentic, focused, it's biggest mistake was Richard's Kingdom area, which should've been just scrapped.
I haven't played this game in years, but as soon as the music comes on I can hear people yelling, "INFIDEL!"
Same here!! :D
INFIDEL DIE!!!
THIEF! YOU ARE FILTH!
If he falls on his head, I am not going to help him
I will have your hand for that!
The only game from AC franchise that made you feel like a true assassin and the chase theme is goddamn epic
Whiterun Guard yup...it's the only ac that's is old, legendary and ancient...feel incredible for this game unlike others .... but ezio done well too in other ways
My heart rate and adrenaline would go nuts if the soldiers recognized me and I had to bolt.lol
Whiterun Guard Maybe the only reason why Altaïr was the only Assassin to make you feel that way is because he was the first one that Ubisoft made a game on. He set the expectation on what other Assassins should be like.
Triune Blades They should definetly make it harder for the Player to survive if found out by the Guards. Nowadays I can just slaughter them all and easily get away with it. It just Takes the fun out of the Situation.
Brotherhood, Revelations
Damascus was such a beautiful city in this game. The architecture and everything just made it look so good.
Jerusalem was also very beautiful
Funny part is, Damascus has always been known in the Middle East as a hole, from as early as the time of Jesus.
Only for you my favourite was italy not Damascus it is not in your perspective it has only dome shapes which i dont like.
I Agree, Brother!
@@GODGAMER-wt9rp venice ❤
Only AC1 had this amazing feel of mystery. Altair and his motivations, the way the dialogues were handled were really gripping and thought provoking. They added the right amount of esoteric and mystique feeling to the whole plot. The culmination of events with Al-Mualim was great too. The concept of obeying and breaking a creed really gace you doubts about what should be the best action.
I believe death is best portrayed in the first game. Nothing comes close to the dialogues after assassinations in the first game. The rest of the games made it somehow more shallow. Granted, story of Ezio is more personal, but in AC1 you see the clash between different moral stances. AC1 as an experience is amazing, a lot of wasted potential but now I have some hopes for AC:O to capitalize on it.
dradamov too bad, Origins is the same rehashed bs from the rest of the AC games
Even killing a regular guard was gritty.
Ac 2 has too
AC 1 is still my favourite followed by AC 2, I don't care much for the rest even tough i've completed almost all of them

What I love best about Altaïr (aside from just being Altaïr ;) is the way he fights. Ezio is like a boxer, Connor a bruiser, Edward a brawler, etc etc. But with Altaïr every fight felt like a DANCE. He free-ran and parkoured with a graceful ease the 2008 game controls had a hard time realizing, yet Ubisoft did their best and his motions feel smoother than some of the others even with more streamlined gameplay. Playing Altaïr was like playing a cat that believed it could fly.
A cat indeed! I know that inability to swim stems from the Animus glitching, but the apparent aversion of water Altair seems to hold is still really funny...
And that is exactly one of the main reasons I love playing this game so much
He truly was the master of the lost art of assassin's. The mythical Altaïr Ibn-LaʼAhad. The old man managed to go back to the castle just with throwing knives.
lol what are you talking about? he literally shares his moveset with ac 2 ezio
@@poowgoon he does, until you get to Revelations. Ezio keeps the same fighting style throughout his trilogy though it becomes more skilled and nuanced, but in Revelations when they go back to Altaïr they change his movements into something that feels more fluid. It’s part of the reason I want to see a remastered version of the first game; there is so much potential they could fix with a remaster when not limited by game mechanics
You dare steal in my presence?! That will cost you your LIFE!
Where is the one who is RESPONSIBLE !!!!!!!! :D

this game makes me 14 again :3
Jesper Kyd's combination of ethnic and electronic music in AC1 and AC2 brings together the old and the modern eras and creates an amazing atmosphere that fits these games perfectly. I miss that feeling when I play the newer games ....
I just finished replaying Assassin's Creed 1.
My first time playing it I hated it and I only wanted to get through it just to play AC2.
I decided to replay this game just because i read online that playing without minimap makes the game MUCH more enjoyable, as in, it turns into an entirely new game.
Trust me, everything is just more enjoyable, you have to listen to the cutscenes, and if someone tells you to look near the mosque, you have to actually find by yourself where to get information. You know it's near the mosque, but you don't know -where- the mosque is, or where exactly you have to go.
Playing without minimap forces you to pay more attention to the enviroment, and that makes this game feel immersive, and in general, much more fun.
So yeah, do yourselves a favor and play this game without minimap, it'll make you love this game.
Basicly morrowind
@@justAlbert_ ahah, yes

They need to bring Jesper Kyd back. No offense to the other composers in the rest of AC franchise, but Kyd's music is really what brought out the best in AC and Ezio's trilogy. He made memorable themes that really stick to your memory and are very nostalgic and super epic!!!

I've played this game three times and finished it, never got bored. In my view, AC 1 is totally distinct than the other assassin's creed series, It truly captures the atmosphere of being an *assassiyun* the game makes the player to philosophize between the right or wrong, and be the judge by observing the NPC's actions and dialogue, when Altair starts questioning his actions the players also do the same. I've been blown away when the Grandmaster of the Templars (the doctor) inhumanely tortured its patients, and then when the doctor was assassinated by Altair the scene where the doctor reasonably explains his justification of what he did to those patients really got me. The gameplay in AC1 maybe not as engaging than the other AC series but the dialogues and the character development of Altair (from an Arrogant nihilistic dude to the seeker of knowledge and wisdom) truly unmatchable than the other series.
i agree too much
That doctors not the grandmaster it's robert de sable
Words truer than this were never said
I have a confession ... I still have this game on my computer and i play it sometimes just so i can visit damascus again ... I have been away from my hometown for 7 years now and I am afraid I might never go back
Well that is quite sad , i hope you get back soon and complete it because its a gem
Hey, I know it's been a year but I hope you made it back safely and can visit family and friends whenever you want
ان شاء الله ترجع هناك في المستقبل.... سوريا بلد جميل جدا وناسها كرام
When the fighting is eventually over, I too, would like to go. Travel buddies?
the city of jerusalem is the best soundtrack in the whole assassin's creed franchise!
I totally agree!
I can never decide on my favourite, they're all so great.
Not even one single Assassin's Creed has bad music
Access the animus better
Ezio Family better
Why couldn't they have used "Flight through Jerusalem" in the movie trailer instead of fucking Kanye West!!! ;(
+x Tuma agreed
Entering the city of Jerusalem, I had these questions in my mind: Where did they bury him? Where was he crucified? How historically accurate is the reconstruction of the old city? So I looked up the Church of Holy Sepulchre and the Al-Aqsa mosque. They were quite accurately built. There was even a graveyard outside the city, though I do not know enough to comment on it. This made me wonder: Why in the world did they crucify him? Why did this city become the focal point of medieval warfare? Then I saw the theory of our protagonist: (1) Our laws are derived not from divinity but through knowledge. (2) We are born with evil inside us, but we can choose to be better. (3) Destroying religion itself is not the answer to the problems it creates. (4) Individual responsibility is better than totalitarian control. (5) Truth is what we see when we place faith in ourselves and look at the reality of this world. (6) God has nothing to do with the outcome of a battle. The better fighter wins.
Timeless classic.
So much wisdom and so much narrative power. Trully and overlooked masterpiece.
This is not really a game, this is journey, story...
The game is so special, that only a few people get the point.
When some FPS game fanboy says BOOORING, its obviously boring for those guys that just need to have full-auto gun and a lot of brutality. I tolerate that someone likes action games, but this one is so special in its own way, in the phylosophy. When you feel like you enjoy AC1 even in terms of gameplay, which is incredibly fun, if you find out the way it is supposed to be felt, then my freind, you are The Real Assassin :)
You know who assassin is, how he works, why he does all he does. HE´S NO SERIAL KILLER, LIKE EVERYONE PLAYS IT.
You can feel the game like no game before, I for example like to play it really and spare every life possible, then feel like real fighter for freedom and have better overwall feeling for doing good assassin job.
really this game is AMAZING
holy shit you're right
On my first playthrough (when i was also like those arcadic gamers hating on slow paced games) i hated it and deleted the game after some months or so barely playing , surprisingly after completing Assassin's creed 3 i had this unbearable urge to play this game again , and well well well , it turned out to be such a gem and even better than all the AC games i have played .
The level of immersion , story emphasis, world , atmosphere , characters ,exploration felt so engaging and fun then i ever thought.
The repeativeness wasn't a bad thing for me
Everytime i knew what to do but after every mission i learned new and better ways to perform my next Assassination , i even exited the memories few times when i wasn't satisfied by how i excueted my idea

Today 05.07.2020 Sunday I just finished Assassin's creed 1 for the first time in my life.
I didn't watch any videos of the game on CZcams to not ruin the story.
I know I was to late, it was released in 2007 and I played it in 2020 after 13 years.
But it was very amazing and fantastic, I can't believe such a game was made in 2007. The graphics look great and better than some games in 2020.
It was a very amazing experience I just had today.
Listened to these tracks and nostalgia took over. I'm playing the game again and enjoying it so far.
Matthew Morrow I wan't to play the first one again too! :)
Sometimes, I would let him stay in a place with no guards or in a rooftop hiding spot and just to listen to the music score... Certain songs could make me listen forever.

Ahh, the memories !
very nostalgic :3
Don't we all miss the good old days when Assassin's Creed was a great franchise? This brings back memories.
The best chase theme, and the most badass protagonist.
6:51 That moment, when you first arrive in Damascus and see the city looming in the horizon.
My childhood in less then an hour. I remember coming home from school and playing Assassins Creed 1 for hours. walking among the people. fighting the guards. Punching Abas. listening to Al Mualim. The later games are mechanically superior in every way but none of the games truly capture the magic that Assassins Creed 1 did. Every sword scrape sounded messy and unrefined. The camera was close enough to feel personal and like youre in the crowd. The other games feel like your outside and overhead. Altair Ibn Laahad was the best assassin.
I want one of three things:
A. An Assassin's Creed reboot that focuses soley on the real Hashâshīn as they were in the 11th, 12th, and 13th centuries.
B. A proper sequel or prequel that follows Altaïr's exploits around the time of the first Assassin's Creed.
C. A remaster of Assassin's Creed. Not a remake from the ground up, but a proper remastering of the game's visuals and audio. Leave the game mechanics untouched. It might not be a perfect game, but it's a game that I hold near and dear to my heart.
The remaster should include a way to show all flag locations, maybe as reward for finishing the story. I also want to money to throw at the poor women :D
100% agree with you!
The remaster should also include a remake of AC Bloodlines given it's almost an Epilogue to AC 1
I want 2 new major games on Alatir , he is so underrated with somuch potential...
I dont care how many reviewers say Assassin's Creed is boring and repetitive, it was part of my childhood and thats why I love it so much

Discovering the city of Damascus for the first time, with Spirit of Damascus playing in the background, so epic ! Gameplay had some major flaws but the atmosphere man, it was hypnotizing.
