Last season when Liverpool was not doing well. Players like Trent and Van dijk were in their worst forms. I remember clearly that Sharky said in some interview or podcast that he doesn’t care if Trent is his favorite RB but if he doesn’t play well , he will definitely be honest and be critical about Trent’s performance (may not be the exact words but this was what he meant)…WHY NOT BE CRITICAL ABOUT ARSENAL PLAYERS PERFORMANCES? Double standards.

Liverpool are currently top of the league, in all 4 competitions and this is during a TRANSITION year with a whole new midfield. Arsenal have had 1 good year and are now in the conversation for best teams in the world? after 0 trophies won in how long? make it make sense😂

The brother named Sharky definitely seems like he's on Arsenal's payroll. Firstly, Liverpool won't finish 3rd from this position (yes, we could finish 2nd if City hit their relentless run and we don't level up), but I expected him to at least be honest about Arteta's position if Arsenal end the season badly.
Though I agree that context is important, if Arsenal finished 3rd/4th and didn't have a deeper run in the Champions League, surely Arteta should be under more scrutiny and isn't the man. A lot of Arsenal fans are too afraid to admit that. As for Liverpool, we'll win the league as long as we maintain 1st spot while Salah is away on AFCON, Endo has also been crucial AND there are no further/long-term setbacks. We can't always assume City will find a way, it's a different season.
We also need to get through this period without any further injuries at the back cos our depth is looking bad rn. Also if Thiago does actually come back in Feb I have no doubt we’re winning the quad. Him alone elevates our team tenfold. Szobo getting back in form also crucial

I trust Liverpool to get better results than arsenal from the same opposition. Arsenal still have to go to the Etihad and I don't think they will win that, Liverpool could get a result at the Emirates... Arsenal have some crucial games coming up and Liverpool have a more chill period now with cup games and easier opposition

Everyone questioning whether Liverpool can sustain form second half of the season when history literally shows, even in their poor seasons under Klopp they always play better second half of the season, van dijk injury year, out of top 4 but make a late charge with rhy Williams and Nat Phillips at Cb and secure top 4. Last season, nearly chasing down Newcastle and United after being some way behind them.
Not true in 20 /21 and klopps team tends to burn out due to high intestity

Exactly my point, we haven’t been great in the first half of the season and it’s actually surprising for us to see ourselves top in the league with arsenal 5 points behind us, judging from how we played against Newcastle im genuinely very excited and how we pressed Newcastle was just brilliant it shows to me that we’ve elevated our performance and we are even better now, we have a week rest which is quite good for all the players

I think Liverpool haven't even hit first gear. If you've watched we haven't dominated many games or played clear fluid attacking football. In fact, a lot of games we've had to come back. What we have done is be immense defensively as a unit. VVD is back on form, Konate is healthy and Gomez has stepped up. The stats will also back this. In addition, we've played less than 6 PL games with an available first team, still missing an elite 6 (unlike City & Arsenal), and yet we are still competing in 4 competitions & top of the league.
The key will be the injuries. Robbo, Trent, Thiago, Bajcetic + Salah & Endo returns.
Full squad in February and it'll get spooky.
That being said, Man City are only 5 points off the top. While they're having a lackluster start to the season, KDB is back and they're still in range. If we can't manage Jan, we will definitely end up 2nd or 3rd.

Sharky talking about city kicking into 2nd gear but Liverpool under Klopp historically get to their best for in the second half of the season🤦🏽♂️. They also have the psychological edge over Arsenal missing 3-4 of our best players and still beating a full strength Arsenal at the emirates.
I don’t see the Arsenal meltdown, it’s clear you need a striker and an advanced 8. But as a Liverpool fan I’ll say this, I trust Liverpool over Arsenal to go to beat city in the 2nd half of the season to cement the title.

Problem is, City is very strong in the Championship stretch, but so is Liverpool. @@josiah.392Arsenal have only had flashes of being good for a couple of seasons, if anyone is bringing reactive it’s those not admitting that Arsenal seem to start well then fall away quite consistently. They finished 5th not too long ago and 8th twice before that, they are struggling and have been struggling for over a decade now. Nobody considered Leicester the best team in the world because they won the league so coming second doesn’t put you in the conversation either.

Don't see how you can say our injuries are due to our playstyle, we haven't even had the most injuries of any team. Plus quite a few of our absences have been due to suspensions rather than injuries as well.

Ange's players at Celtic got the exact same injuries and also had multiple injuries outside of games like when Johnson was injured for a few games because of something from training. It's the same as Newcastle. You can't have your players cover some of the most distance in the league with high intensity and not pick up some wear and tear and a lot of Tottenham's players are quite susceptible to little injuries. Maddison. Lo Celso. Gil. Kulu. Bissouma. Johnson.

There is simply no way liverpool don't win the league, would be such a slap on the face for klopp and Co to come short of city again.. Granted this is year 1 of lfc rebuild / 2.0 but they're clinching it. Not counting on salah in the latter half as he's usually fatigued, it's going to be a jota show.

6. Newcastle- I think that when the injuries clear up and now that they have no Europe, they’ll be fine.
5. Villa - Have honestly been amazing to watch but idk if Watkins stays this hot for the rest of the year.
4. Spurs - When they get healthy, they’ll be scary again. Signing Radu gives them much needed cover in CB and when VDW comes they will be great.
3. Arsenal - The attack has dried up significantly and with the UCL campaign, I struggle to see them keeping up with City and Pool. However, I agree with Faysal that they can be a threat for the UCL (not City level but good) solely because they are probably the best defence in Europe.
2. Liverpool - They have been great but like Arsenal last year, I think that they peaked too early. And it’s not because I think they’re frauds or playing unsustainable, it’s because they are against City.
1. City - Unlike City, who are getting healthy and look to hit form in the latter half of the season, just like they did last year. People have undersold how impactful KDB is because the fact that they’ve done this well without KDB playing is terrifying.

People are in denial that Spurs may finish higher - they can't believe Arsenal might even bottle top 4 now, but it's trending that way. Spurs injured team is playing much better than Arsenal's healthier team - with the players back, Spurs are clearly the better team, and Arsenal only ever got that top spot because Spurs players were injured.
Spurs had a CB on the bench in that period.
