This owner and I are cut from the same cloth. I've been playing mix and match with old Toyota's for almost 2 decades now. The amount of interchange in these with only mild modifications is unbelievable. It's like Lego but the Toyota version. =D Very Nice build... May have to try something like it myself one day. 👍
@@MattDutton Yes, now there are fewer of them, we pour a lot of salt on the road in winter, so the car bodies quickly rust and break, wheel arches, thresholds and the bottom suffer greatly. It is rare to find a non-rusty Carib AE95. The climate is harsh. The years take their toll. To the owner of the car - respect, it looks great! Good luck on the roads!!!
I saw this on IG first and when I saw this vid i instantly recognized the car. I got an AE94 wagon but always wanted to see the 95 in person. Awesome ride!
What a beaut. I got an AE101 sedan which are dime a dozen for $1200 nzd four years ago at 265,000km and it’s been the most reliable car I’ve had. Almost done 300,000. And it’s no longer a daily now 😂
I love oem+ builds like this. I’ve followed the owner on ig for years and stumbled across this vid by complete accident, it was great seeing him talk about its many details and quirks. Love the content too, I’ve just subbed, keep it up!
headlight and corner light might need position adjustment or maybe it's different year/period. I experienced in Toyota Crown Royal Saloon S130, someone crashed my corner light, and my car is 1989 S130, I thought it's all the same from 1989 to 1992, apperently it was not. So later I knew that previous owner had changed the whole facia to 1991, so I cannot be aligned :D
Great video! Makes me miss mine - I had the exact same model - same colour and everything! I still say it's the best car I ever had, and put a heap of kms on it travelled interstate for work in the early 2000's. Really love what you've done with yours!!
What a Beauty! Nice Colour! Let me Know if you're after another one, I've got a Good Running Maroon Colour Ae95 AWD, $1500 Ono - in Armidale NSW, It'd make a Great Sleeper Tercel! Cheers👍🍻
I have one of these as well, also 5spd transmission. I'm gonna be changing transaxle oil, but I don't know if the trasnsaxle is shared with the transfer case. No transfer case dipstick but looks like there is a drain plug, not sure any thoughts?
I would have bought this wagon model coz it's 4wd but finnish insurance companies suck ass if you have a wagon your insurance doesn't pay you anything if something is stolen from your car so i bought a liftback model ae92
I'm just restoring my 1991 all-track corolla. I tried to find you on Instagram but I haven't found you. It would be very cool if you could give me recommendations
It’s an oem Australian delivered bonnet with a Carib (jdm model) front grill and the accompanying bonnet trim. Can check out the owners Instagram now @retronicsgarage 👍
Hey guys if anyone can answer my comment I’d appreciate please 🙏 I’m trying to find out that company rack for the wagon I have a 1989 ae92 Corolla wagon fwd 1.6 liter, and I have been looking to buy a rack so I can slap my kayak on it, and I recently ordered one from Amazon, they said it was able to fit on the wagon so I got it and it didn’t…. Is really appreciate it if someone can lmk what company that rack is
Hey mate, reach out to the owner directly on instagram @ok.rad.mike and he’ll be able to give you more detail. I personally would have thought a set of Corolla racks and basket would have been a sure fit. Let me know how you go 👍
I would think it would have been the same car, doubt Toyota would have had a specific car for America compared to the rest of the world but I could be wrong.
Alright TOP COMMENT you want 2nd gen north american pathfinder springs (no need to cut down(SKETCHY) and rav4 shocks) SECOND NOTE .... WHAT DID WE USE to lift the front

Similar experience over here with Subarus!
Do you happen to know where I can find a front lip similar to the one he has for my 89 Corolla
Wonderful build. Great finish. Loving the overall look. True 90s wagon, no nonsense!
In Russia, it goes under the name Carib ae95, it's a great car! I have the same one, only it was released in 1988! Greetings from Siberia!
Hello Siberia! The owner did say they were very popular in Russia!

Wow that front end looks so clean. Wanted some inspiration you definitely delivered
Thanks Kevin 👍
This is awesome, need more ae95 content definitely
The paint on that is so good
I have a AE95 in purple, 460,000km on the clock, still runs like a dream
Toyota reliability at its finest!
Absolutely love this!! Those wheels look awesome on it 👌🏻

@@JacobJacobJacobJacobJacob I think he's says on the video, I can only assume they a some sort of jap style. Looks awe tho 👌🏻

Love these cars I learnt to drive in one, I’d definitely be in the market for one if I didn’t already have a ton of projects lol

Hey mate I’d be keen
my dad had one in white and i learned to drive in it
i remember in 2019 when selling it after 17 years of ownership he cried and i was sad as well😭
That’s a long time of ownership! I’m sure there would have been many great times over the 17 years!
Mint.. Had two that gen and the next best most practical and reliable economical cars ever :-)
Aj from the CZcams channel Life OD has this kind of car and he lifted his and it’s great off-road on the trails.
First time I've seen a wagon like this. I want one yea
My weird fetish for 90s estates is complete
I want one with a Lancer Evo 6 drivetrain :D
Would be nice! Thanks for watching 🙏
Go the mighty #AE95 🍺👌
🍻👍
This is so freaking cool!
Certainly is!
would have loved to see this next to the GR Corolla unveil
Agreed Jared!
Passed up an opportunity to get one of these now it's one of my biggest regrets 😪
Nice car bro keep it up
Bc coil overs. I need some for my AE92
in Indonesia this is a rare car. rarely anyone has. even if there is, the price is expensive
3 Series BMW wheels will fit straight on to this car.

I Love that it's All Manual including the windows.
This Joint is CREAM, Don't EVER get rid of this Car BROH It's Way ToOo CooL!!!!
Thanks for watching 🙏
God I wish my AE95 looked this good. hmmm I wonder what the total cost of the build was?
Less than $10k, most of it has been the owners work, cheap parts and swaps for labour.

@retronicsgarage on Instagram.
Never knew this car existed Intel Life OD made there video
Love that cute accent
#strayla
the sound exhaust ?
Is this the same as the ae92 wagon that North America got ? This uses leaf springs vs Coilovers?
I would think it would have been the same car, doubt Toyota would have had a specific car for America compared to the rest of the world but I could be wrong.
@@MattDutton we never got the Carib in the states
No Leaf. Is called Corolla Alltrac in the USA you definitely got a few of them
Its a fwd engine layout but awd
It uses mcpherson in front and
Divorced set up for the rear
How we can get this in pakistan and what is the price of this corola station car
These are fairly cheap in Australia, what are the import rules like in Pakistan?
What year elantra did you get that cargo cover from?
95-99 model, believe it was from the sports version, but base model may also have it.
Is this same as the sprinter carib?
Yes it’s effectively a 2nd generation Carib.
Hello, does anyone know where I can find the owner of this car? The Instagram link no longer works.
It’s now @retronicsgarage
@@MattDutton thank you!
How’s it going, Do you remember the website or company you bought the front lip from
Hi Tony, you can reach out directly to the owner on Instagram @retronicsgarage, he’ll be able to confirm 👍
Thank you for reply 🙌
