However, you have missed some relevant and important areas/factors- 1. you are absolutely right- Alcohol, drug and smoking during pregnancy can damage developing/growing brain badly. 2. you have emphasized Omega 3 rich foods, but it's not only Omega 3- healthy balanced diet, particularly protein rich diet( egg, poultry, lentils, nuts, beans, soybeans apart from fish) is important- fresh vegetables are important as well). Conversely, malnutrition during pregnancy and childhood can damage brain development. 3. you are 100% right - kids must not spend too much time on mobile phones, TV and other electronic gadgets. They need social stimulation and social interaction, otherwise they will grow up with poor social and communication skills. Let kids participate in group activities, debates etc. 4. Kids need Intellectual stimulation as well- the more they use their brain the better ( it also applies to us too!!!). Apart from memorising facts they should be encouraged to ask questions and find out answers- why and how things happen. 5. Children should be encouraged to take physical activities, sports as well.
