I am flying this from IAD-BKK. I feel kind of cheated because that route was served by an A350, but replaced by this older 777 because of Qatar/Airbus Paint Dispute. :(
That's quite unfortunate 😔 A350 certainly has wider seats than the 777

We are flying from US to DOH to BKK in March. The US to DOH airline is B777 200/300. Not sure exactly which one. We received an email from Qatar about passenger confirmations and one was to select seating.
Question - Do we have to select seats as a couple or would they do their BEST to seat couples together (Take a chance that they will give me and wife seat together)? And also is it worth to pay for preferred seats ($65) or extra-leg room ($165)?
My suggestion would be to select the seats yourselves. You can select seats 24hours before the flight by checking in online from Qatar Airways website. Sometimes they are unable to seat couples together so best is to select seats. On long flights such as US-DOH yeah extra legroom can be worth it
Do yourself a favor and fly business class.

I fly Qatar Business class, I went to use their bathroom, since Business class was full. It looked like a meat packing. Everyone was squished together. I hurried back to business class. I have flight from Qatar in May. My ticket was $4800,😢😢😢

My parents will be on Qatar from JFK to Doha and another 10 hour flight to Singapore, I can never handle these long haul flights :(
flights longer than 10hours in economy is unbearable fr. and if the flight is full it's even worse
@@nawfelrashid4732 Yeah, hard pass for me since I have social anxiety, ive gone on every vacations with my parents for 14 years and this will be my first time without em going to Asia, 2 long flights are a damn torture, standing up then sitting down and repeat would not be enough for my comfort, maybe business class would be better since I can lay down there, i felt safe denying myself from that, not mentally ready to prepare for that, they will be leaving on Nov 29 to cruise ship in Thailand
