This post is truly my tribute for Sensei.. here in Indonesia, we as a kid (gen Y - millenials),me and my brothers born 1982, 1984, 1987 and me 1990 wth my younger bro 1994 watch (on official private tv channel broadcast) anime, especially dragon ball at 09.00 AM once a week on Sunday (can u imagine the patience? Let say freeza namec saga, with only 30 minutes duration per week, maybe finished 5months?? 😢), this is truly lost of legends..even my dad follow dragon balls anime at that time and watch with us too, my dad is 1951 born...such a great art by you sensei

And I love how just the first Naruto has more than that.

Not that some of the Naruto OPs weren't good, but none of them stand up to Makafushigi Adventure or Cha La Head Cha La or Field of View.
I could perhaps see the best Naruto OPs competing with the rest of Dragonball's OPs, but nothing really stands above them.
As much as I like to joke around about We Gotta Power feeling more like it belongs with an 80s Super Sentai or Kamen Rider than Dragonball, even it's an incredible OP and it's bottom of the DB barrel.
In hindsight, the feel of We Gotta Power is kind of brilliant, considering the thematic origins of *GREAT SAIYAMAN!*
@@priestesslucy3299 The DB Openings are much more iconic, but that doesn't translate to quality very well. Don't you think you're overating them just because there are fewer and they are older? I mean, who would choose any DBKai/Super Opening vs. Any of the best Naruto OPs from a technical standpoint?
I think that the Hironobu songs are really beyond excellent, at least.

Kai/ super openings are 'okay' not anything special but they work fine as openings but I don't think they'll stand the test of time or be iconic other than maybe Cho-zets dynamic but at a much lower level. Limit break x survivor is a good song but really isnt iconic or 'fit' the series. It'll always be a great workout song tho

When I was 7 years old, DB TV anime has started in Japan. I was very into DB & DBZ all through my childhood.I'm so happy because I grew up with Dragon Ball.
I'm in my 40's now and I watched DBGT & DBS. I'm still excited about DB.
I think DB is the best animation that excited and energized the world.
I agree with you absolutely! I'm from the states, but this very series was my first motivation to teach myself Japanese. I've been able to accomplish quite a bit since thing, but it always goes back to my intense love for the Dragon Ball series. It IS the best animation

This may sound kind of cheesy to some. Doesn’t to me. But anyway. I’m 35 years old. Grew up watching Dragonball Z. To this day, even in moments when life gets rough; I can hear the song Chala Head Chala and it’ll flood me with good memories, as if it drives me to lift my head up and press on. Akira Toriyama created a truly powerful franchise. That man deserves so much recognition and appreciation.
