  • Eleanor Kane is an award nominated singer-songwriter, actor and horticulturalist. She made her West End debut straight from university in the Young Vic’s Olivier-nominated musical, Fun Home. Her performance as a young Alison Bechdel in the Broadway transfer was described as “absolutely delightful” (Time Out). The Times said her delivery of “Changing My Major” was “one of the best disquisitions of morning after bliss you’re likely to hear.” It also earned her a Stage Debut nomination for Best Actress In A Musical.
Eleanor trained at Rose Bruford College, London, gaining a First Class degree in Actor Musicianship, after studying Musical Theatre at Laine. A London based Scot, she is an accomplished singer-song writer and vocalist with a stunning three octave range and exhilarating stage presence.
Theatre credits include A Monster Calls (Old Vic, Kennedy Centre Washington DC), Hex (National Theatre), Duchess of Malfi (Royal Lyceum, Citizens Theatre) and High Fidelity (Turbine Creative). Live music venues include: The Ned, Tramps, Glasgow Barrowlands, Glasgow King Tuts and Kelvingrove Summer Nights. Her EP, The St Vincent Street Sessions, was show-cased by BBC Radio Scotland and she has performed at The Scottish Parliament. Eleanor’s work blends gospel and RnB melodies with intelligent song-writing influenced by the greats of folk, funk and indie.
Eleanor began performing as a teenage busker on the streets of Glasgow, her home town. She learned to sight read with Scotland’s leading youth choirs, including Voice Factory and RSNO Junior Chorus, and at age 15 appeared in Scottish Opera’s Werther. She trained in classical ballet from the age of 5 to 18.
During the Covid-19 lockdown, Eleanor qualified in horticulture and worked with children to create a garden out of wasteland in their shared Glasgow tenement. She believes passionately in the power of plants, as well as music, to bring people together.
