Great video. This bag has been on my radar. I'm a comfort guy in terms of straps and really wish it had a front pocket and a zipper pouch on the inside for smaller items. I could do without the RFID blocking, but I'm sure some will love it and it will be a selling point for them. So I got this just a week ago, and it is truly the bag I’ve been looking for since I started using them for EDC. It’s got enough organization so that it isn’t just a “dump everything in” kinda bag, albeit I do have to play Tetris kind of. Could do without the RFID in the middle, but it can fit my card wallet fine, so it gets a pass. The one zipper is admittedly a pain point, but one I can ultimately live with. The strap is also fine, given the bag’s capacity. Easy 8-8.5/10.

This seems like what I should have gotten instead - something relatively low profile that can be dressed up :)

the strap doesnt feel great, but rmbr it's because it's slash proof, so whatever material they have under the fabric helps prevent the strap being cut in half by a thief - security isn't always convenient
I've always liked Bellroy and have bought quite a few of their things, but this little bag doesn't feel very "travel", Bellboy's new products in the "travel" series this year don't really feel "travel" either, they seem more "business" and "luxury". Maybe their definition of travel has changed, or they're focusing more on high-net-worth individuals?
Would it be possible to remove the centre RFID bit without ruining the bag? I like this sling but would want to put slightly thicker stuff in the middle from time to time.
@@Nomads.Nation is it stitched into the bottom of the bag? I had another sling that the centre divider could be removed however it was only stitched at the side. If also wasn’t in this price range so the risk was lower

@republicedc8567 Finally someone said it!! The strap on that 'Carryology x Bellroy' sling is what keeps it from being THE best sling on the market. If Bellroy would sell separately the strap for this new sling, I'd buy it right now.

I have spent a fortune on Bellroy products and have been happy with them for the most part. But the recent camera bag and the Carryology X Bellroy Venture Sling have disappointed. The straps are horrible although I did manage to swap out the sling strap for a Tom Bihn strap that works wonderfully. Also, disliked the branding on that sling and managed to get if off. I'm burnt on their straps and won't be buying anymore slings from them. Also, they seem to be churning products out at a dizzying pace and that can sometimes compromise innovation.

I don’t think you realise how prevalent RFID scams are. In London, there’s stories all the time of people tapping card readers (Square, SumUp, even the iPhone now that it can act as a card reader) onto people’s pockets and instantly charging them £100 (the max that can be done contactless). If all you have is a simple thin wallet, it’ll pass through. Basic RFID protection will help massively here!!
Interesting to know! Is that a scam though or an accident from the retail card reader? Also my understanding is that it’s still not very effective I protecting from scams (unless it’s 100% laser sealed), it’s more of a peace of mind thing
I think this purse is a step to the wrong direction. 3L yet can't handle a slight bulk like a small umbrella, sunnies or a thick wallet. Also, Bellroy slings are the best? How about the Aer day sling 3?
Honestly I don't really see the point of this sling in their lineup, they have better ones and this one while labeled as a "travel" sling doesn't really have any travel-specific USP like slash-proof fabric on the body, or locks or whatnot. Sure there's the RFID pocket but all in all I'd rather get the Ready 2.5 for 40 bucks less and spend the rest on gelatto at the destination...
I too prefer the 2.5L, but I think this is still a unique product in it's own right. Significantly more weather resistant than any other sling they've released, and the RFID pocket will speak to many (and is technically a very travel-specific feature). Just imo

Please aaron have a look at the ddhifi c2023 pouch Its actually an audiophile carry sling, but apparently great for normal use too. It has premium materials, but costs only $50. Would love your input on that. Also thanks for the great video!
I care zero about a cut resistant shoulder strap. No one is cutting the strap off my body, just not something that happens even in the least safe places

I think their Venture Ready Sling 2.5L and their Venture Sling 9L are the gold standards of small and large slings - have you tried them yet?
