Once again, I'm reminded of how similar our Appalachian heritage really is, everytime i watch your video's it's as if I'm sitting where your camera is, and we're visiting like neighbors and family, i love it ❤. Short story.. My Dad passed a little over a year ago, and this is a story he told me several times...When he was a boy, he had a work horse named "Pet" he plowed with her and he said that she would hook in that harness and plow with him sometimes all day long, and she listened very well...except, he said, that if you raised your voice or sounded "huffy" towards her, she would take off to the barn, and nothing you could do would stop her, lol, he said she was done for the day...😂😅

Tipper, my Daddy, and papaw had a plow like that when I was a child. They called it a push plow. Looks like it still is a good garden tool in current times. So glad your out and enjoying Springtime. We eat those Popsicles too. ❤

My dad was so funny. He had a funny thing he’d say if he was in the hospital about nurses checking on him at night. He’d say “They come in and wake you up to give you a sleeping pill.”🤣

Matt, funny story about a boat. My mom would ask dad to fix whatever she needed fixing and he would reply that he wasn’t sure he had the right tools for that particular job. She would show people the fishing boat he built with no tools. I grew up in western NC and I really relate to you guys. Thanks for your contribution to our heritage.

Tipper.. just an idea for when you’re planting carrots… water the furrow then plans seeds.. cover the row with plank boards and leave them until carrots germinate.. .. So glad Granny is home and you are back with your Family!!
Yes. The board idea is to keep the seeds moist until germination. And it works.

When I was a kid, we used a plow like that, and mom had 2 acre gardens, and the elder neighbor had 1acre, and that's what used. Lol, flash back, lol. Love yall

Bless Granny's heart. I spent part of yesterday in the hospital. I loved sleeping in my own bed all day today. The anesthesia is just hanging on. I know Granny can't wait to get home to her own bed. I have the hardest time saying wheelbarrow. I just want to say wheelbar. That is what my people called it. As I tell my husband it sounds better to me.

On another video I left you a message about about the Ruth Stout method for gardening. She lives back in the early 1900s. And on CZcams she tells her story about how she discovered how to garden without tilling or anything. Only adding straw or hay over and over on top of each other each year and it turns into compost. You can see she had a beautiful garden. Just wanted to tell you.

Matt's stories about the barns brought back memories of my Grandpa and Uncle's barns. Grandpa's was full of those old iron implements and I remember the wheel hoe but never used it. Uncle's had more modern equipment and a hay loft we used to jump out of for fun.
Now that’s the two people I want to see eating popsicles together! 😊
