The aliens are trying to understand human culture so that they can better communicate and cooperate with humans in the future. However, they are confused and puzzled by some human behaviors and cultural phenomena, such as striptease, zombie movies, and other movie plots and terms. The aliens' curiosity and confusion about human culture is shown through the movie, as well as the efforts of experts in human culture to try to explain and flirt with these plots and terms.
