Leasha Yeah it's so heartbreaking to see that most humans treat like shit those pure beings and they can't defend theirselves enought. We are not better than them they deserve a lot more than us
They know it's a different person I reckon. I don't think they forgive so easily, this is more of a case of learning trust again with someone new.
Leasha, that is absolutely true, I see it every time in the HFP videos. You could see the exact moment that Ralph relaxed and realised that he was safe and secure. Amazing. Just amazing :) x

Unlike human's...animals live in the moment.
Humans give them pain, but when they see love from us they forgive us and start to trust us again, what wonderful creatures far far better than humans
forgive and trust again! give others a chance! humans should learn from this dog lol
well you're wrong. Dogs are capable of very nasty things too. They can kill and eat their own puppies for example and they can kill human babies too

Those moments Eldad spent with Ralph by the brick wall at the vet's are some of the most poignant and heartwarming I have ever seen. Thank you for what you do.
I love how he was so scared but then when he was getting petted for the first time he closed his eyes like he was thinking "finally..."
It's that moment of realisation that not all humans are assholes :)
If you think about it, humans and dogs are EXACTLY the same. We are as a species SO SCARED of each other. When we show each other love, it’s the same as Ralph’s reaction. The major difference is that dogs know what love is. Unfortunately, humans don’t.

So beautiful. I have noticed that with other rescues. They really are starving for affection but at the same time they have had to have their defenses up while on their own or while being abused. He finally had someone he could trust.

I went through this with one abused rescue and it nearly broke me. Eldad does this for a living and deserves some kind of medal for his courage, love and patience.

It made me tear up too 😢 you could see Ralph also was getting wet eyes, I bet he was remembering when he was actually treated well instead of being abused and forgotten 😭
Kinda like people. Except we won't just let someone pet us. I wish people were that simple.
I cried too when I saw his eyes looking at the volunteer. I could feel how hurting it was for him. Dogs are simple, and they need to be loved and cared, and they will put all their trust in you.
holy moly. got to the part you're talking about. powerful. :( I'll be hugging my 3 later when I'm home. they all come from various situations of abuse but are now treated as family members. I hate to think of any of them being this angry. too see that new trust forming in him is tough to watch without tearing up.
Seeing Ralph's demeanor change on camera was just a special moment. He was definitely abused as are almost all of them.

I love that final picture of him being held in his Mama's arms! He looks so very happy, content, and loved! it was all worth it. this is why no dog or cat should be given up on. All they need is Love!

Lovely to see that transition from agitation and aggression to recognising that you're not a threat and beginning enjoy being pet.

I’ve watched nearly all of your rescues, Eldad, but this one - watching that hyper-tense, frightened dog - start to close his eyes and very slightly relax (when you were still using the blue rag) was truly amazing and extremely moving! Just an incredible moment! Again, a very sincere, heart-felt “thank you” to you and your staff. 🇨🇦

That's true. Some people seem to forget that dogs are very social animals by nature, and dogs like this one who've become hardened from abuse and loneliness must feel like they've gone to heaven when they realize they've found someone who cares and will help them.

you can see the expression on the dogs face when he starts scratching his head you can tell he's thinking "well that feels kinda nice!"

I can no longer watch the beginnings of these videos, as they are just too heartbreaking. I just fast forward to where the dog has been rescued and doing well. Thank you for rescuing all of these angels.

His tail said everything. At first he is full of scared but when his second chance appeared his tail looks so happy. I am so proud of you,knowing that you exist, makes me think that there is some angels in the earth.

He.was fighting...No place to run. He's terrified and so sad looking. After awhile he gives up but still frightened. Then...He surrenders to human touch and how good it feels.such a loving

@Steve A People like you do not understand about having a rescue animal it been to a lot the lives have been change they not homeless anymore you But you don't understand it so many animals out here have been tossed out on the street but people don't hear how they live or die but you don't understand it

This was so incredibly beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing. I just recently had to do the exact same thing with a feral juvenile cat that's been hanging around my house, and let me tell you, even though she had never had human contact before, or the only humans she knew were mean to her, she is now one of the sweetest, most grateful little cats I have ever had the pleasure of knowing, and she licks my hands and face to thank me for saving her every day. Never give up on animals, because once you win them over, they will be grateful to you for the rest of their little lives.

You're right all animals have feelings as well dog cannot scream and ask for help but we can so sometimes we need to sacrifice. Because a life is worth a life too. For us there age is like only up to 5-10 years but for them its like 50+ their time is worthing so much for them. Make their life the best. And if someone can't change the world alone let's help together. Their not toys and think what do they feel and think if you're in their position
i have watched this video before, but still love it!! when you first rub his head and it closes his eyes--like he wants to trust you but he is still not sure!! but finally he gives in--wonderful dog!!
Just seeing this one 7 years later. It's interesting your learning process in the seven years. The one that did not change is you love of the animals and your drive to see them taken care of. Respect.

I am actually going to use this method of rehab on a dog at my local humane society. They’re gonna put her down soon because she has fear aggression but imma try to save her by doing this

I miss hearing your soothing and reassuring voice with the rescues . I can understand that some of the music that has been chosen for these videos have a meaning to match the sentiment of what rescuing is all about. Perhaps the music can be for the intro/outtroor in the background softly so that we can still hear your voice. Thank you for all you do!

I know this is an older video, but I love it. You can see the very moment when Ralph's demeanor changed and he decided that maybe, just maybe, THESE humans weren't going to hurt him after all...and then he became a whole different dog. Thank you for saving him, and being patient enough to allow him to reach that point

I had to chuckle at the beginning when you were trying to trick him to get the leash on. He's like "put the damn leash away and just give me the cheeseburger." Your patience and dedication paid off, what a beautiful transformation. :-)

I chuckled when he firstly backed out of the trap like NOPE NOT FALLING FOR THAT. He kept his back legs out so he could not be trapped , smart dog. Glad to know he's better now.

A couple months ago there was a black and brown dog wandering around our yard. She had a collar but I wanted to keep her. But we called her owners and it turns out their dog escaped. I feal so good bringing back their dog. And I wanna be a vet or work in a no kill animal shelter when I grow up. :3 And watching these videos makes me want to do it even more.

You do a brilliant job and it makes so glad there are People like you about I have always had Rescue Dogs my Gissi passed away 3 months ago it broke my heart, he was a rescue dog it took me 3 Years to teach him he can trust People around us that I will never let anyone hurt him again, no age or history on the boy as he was found on the street half beaten to death he gave me 9 happy years a lot of Health issues but he was worth every penny ...........keep up the great work
