The newer "Smart" tachos have built in GPS and they know if you enter a new country. Also they can be downloaded remotely by your company or even by the control company. They can also download the data without stopping you, even if they are staying in a parking lot and you drive past them on the motorway. But you can only be fined in person when they stop you.

How did you end up going through the town?? We literally turned out of the parking area and through the peage and we got to the motorway... And no you don't have to take breaks at all! Hot swap, toilet, coffee and send it!

A vehicle is considered double-manned when there are two drivers on board either at the start of, or within the first hour of the journey, and both are ready and able to take the wheel. Each of them must also have their Driver Card, which must be inserted into the appropriate slot on the tachograph (1 for the Driver, 2 for the Passenger) at the earliest opportunity.
Keep in mind that tachograph rules still apply to both drivers. When double-manned, each driver requires daily rest period of 9 hours within a 30-hour period that starts after the last daily or weekly rest period has ended.
While Double-Manning, time spent as a passenger is legally considered to be a Break, but does not count towards Daily Rest. This means that even with double-manning, there will come a point when both drivers have to take a Daily Rest.
Whenever a Driver Card is in slot 2 of the tachograph, and the vehicle is in motion, the passenger's activity will be recorded as Period Of Availability (POA). The first 45 minutes of this POA are actually recorded to the card as a break, however. This makes compliance with break requirements a lot easier while double-manning.

I heard that all new trucks, that come out of factory, MUST have these ridiculous reversing cameras :/ What are they for? I would understand if they would mount these on the cab, so you could see fifth wheel. But this location.. wierd.

Hi Raul! I'm a HGV driver in Britain looking to move to Germany (I'm Polish so don't have to worry about immigration matters). Exchanging licenses should be easy enough however I don't see anything about exchanging my CPC card for a code 95 entitlement though. I understand that it will be a bit different wherever you're based, but there may be some similarities to how Germany does it, do you have any advice at all?
Honestly I don't know anything about changing your CPC. I still have my Romanian one
