      That band is dumb.
It is made up by black metal and folk metal types who want to sound mysterious and cool and copy the Mongolians to sound spiritual.
I bet you that Muslim dude who wrote about it was really talking about drunk guys yelling singing and partying with a masculine deep voice. Nobody would associate Mongolian throat singing and humming with dog's barking. Muslims have been to Asia as well and knew about this stuff. They would have noticed a similarity.

Now im listening to this and Crónán Singing and realized my dad literally always use to and sometimes still throat sings, and that explains why its so easy for me to learn polyphonic. I genuinely had no clue that i got any of his musical ability cause i had work so hard to learn to sing for the past 10years only for me to realize the ability was always there for this and for overtones. We don't know. Vikings passed their songs down through musicians called Skalds. Writing was reserved for important historical events and law codes. People who sang like this, if they did exist, would likely have been priests and shamans who also passed their techniques down to the next generation directly without writing it down. That way the secrets are kept.
But we can borrow from Old Norse and call it óstsongr. Even if there's no historical evidence and it has been borrowed from Mongolia, it sounds incredible when used with the ancient languages. A band called Heilung has a throat singer if you want to hear more.

He can say whatever he wants. People have their beliefs and you should respect that, instead of trying to come on here and attempting to put yourself in a superior position. You are worth less than the gum on the bottom of my shoe.

@@lucybullwhip8103 yeah, he can say whatever he wants, but this also means that he will also be able to be criticized for the stupid things he says.
I don't have to respect his or anyone else's incredibly stupid ideas or beliefs, only the right to say or have them. There is a difference. Criticism of stupid ideas doesn't make me arrogant or feel superior, it's just calling out stupidity when it appears. Also, are you trying to put yourself in a superior position by saying I'm doing that as if I'm the bad guy?
Curious how you demean me for what I said as if you're not being more rude by literally calling me essentially worthless when I only said I hoped he was joking about "throat chakra", seeing as it's "woo-woo" BS.

Viking throat singing came from Mongolian warriors who travelled to Norway and adjoing territories… as well as the jaw harp 👍🏼

And then the cronan singing (Irish and Scottish) came from the Norse Vikings who got it from said Mongolian warriors. It's beautiful how similar humans from diff regions are as well as the sharing between cultures🙌

Tuvan throat singing, Mongolian throat singing and Sardinian throat singing traditions exist since centuries. There are proofs and documentation that anyone can easily find on the internet
    .
I cant' find anything related to "Viking throat singing". You're just vibrating your false folds while vocalizing.
