@CallieMacN there is a new rom hack/mod for Sonic Advance 2 called SA2 SP which adds more chances to get rings for the special stages and it only requires 5 to enter it. definitely much better since you need to do 5 full campaigns.

Callie Hedgie watching Amy fall was like "Long live the Queen"
I am liking this new direction Sega is taking the characters--or rather, the franchise in. It actually feels cohesive and solid with little to no issue, the extended cast is actually getting proper appreciation after so long, and so far we've gotten two great games that have been unanimously positively received with no ire or scorn shamelessly shoved down our throats.
After SA2--the game everyone agrees is forever the PERFECT Sonic game, everything after it has either had dissatisfaction like Heroes or Lost World, or things like Shadow, '06 and Boom fueled the fanbase's feeling like an utterly shattered mirror. But with what we've got so far with IDW, Frontiers as a game, and The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog, and what may come with Superstars and Frontiers' Update 3, and the third movie...things may change to provide happiness for everyone. It'd be a surprise for many if we truly got something that feels up to the likes of Adventure 2, Unleashed or even what '06 truly wanted to do for everyone. Here's hoping!
(BTW, after the videos on Riders 1 and Free Riders: No Kinect, we need a Zero Gravity/ReGravitified episode from you!)

Though I haven't played advance 1 or 3, Sonic Advance 2 was one of if not my first Sonic games. My first games being Sonic Colors(DS), Advance 2, and Sonic and the Secret Rings.
I'm going to say this, I always wanted to try sonic advance, and now I played because of, yar har fiddle dee dee, I got of experience the magic of it, and all I got to say is, wow, this is hard. Callie, whatever you do, just have fun, don't stress about anything like videos, just play how you want to play and take care of yourself. Have a good day!
They are hard games, and they can be quite cheap in some areas. But I still love them fondly! I hope one day sega gives them a proper rerelease.
@CallieMacN Exactly! They should, no must, rerealase these games to the public again, maybe in a collection with battle and pinball party! I have an extreme bias for battle, though. Then again, like you said before, it's sega, they probably won't. All of this is coming from a freaking 16 year old!

The use of sound effects was wonderful, and I loved the visuals from the camera movement and puppet animation to showing the darkened screen with the original GBA. The whole video was great, and I got a chuckle out of the Tom scream coming from the lion. Congratulations again, and here's to the year of Amy! :)

How i love the Advance trilogy as a whole, even if the games end up being diferent even when following such a similiar formula under diferent executions, i think each title offers a part of this franchise that i adore.
Yeah, I do love all of them! Advance 2 is not my favourite for sure. But it's mainly due to some level design and I don't like the running boss gimmicks ^^'. I still can have fun with the game!
@@CallieMacN Yeah, but i still enjoy it as this sort of prototype to what would become the Rush series, and i can play said gameplay style with Amy, so that's a win (even if unlocking her in that game is simply so hard for no good reason(but it's worth it for her)).
Handheld games typically get overlooked, so no surprise there. Even then, I heard good things about the Sonic Advance games. Hopefully they will come to NSO so I can give these a try. Also, it is nice to hear that the SA games gave you happy moments when you were younger. On my end, I really enjoyed the Super Mario Advance games when I was younger.

11:05 I’m pretty sure the only Sonic character that Infinite has more actual character than is a certain princess who was only seen in a Sonic game that was both aggressively unfinished and cursed in many ways
12:33 Your comment about Amy refusing to have a consistent moveset reminded me of how when the fan remake of Sonic Triple Trouble added Amy for an update for SAGE this year (which I totally wasn’t expecting since Noah Copeland said the previous update was the final one) she was given 3 options for her moveset: Origins, Superstars, and 3 AIR. I already considered the fangame to be one of my favorites and the addition of Amy with multiple ways to play as her makes the game even better. She’s only playable in free play mode like how Fang and Metal Sonic are, but the game got an update that changed that mode to make it so you aren’t forced to go back to the menu at the end of every stage you play while in that mode, so it makes up for that. This comment might be completely unnecessary, I wasn’t able to make it to that SAGE stream, but I figured I’d make it for anyone who it’d interest that hasn’t tried the update
I love the advance trilogy! Its my favorite out of the games because it introduced my favorite Character. Cream! Also I usually play as Amy because Cream isn't playable that much. Currently running through advance 2 and battle!

I actually had a similar situations a few months ago when, after playing Sonic Heroes since it was released I finally managed to finish all 4 stories and, most importantly, get all chaos emeralds on my dear GameCube! It was so satisfying to finally reach that Metal Madness fight so I can understand how you felt... Though damn, I didn't know how boring this Advance 1 Super Sonic fight actually is ^^'.

Another game of my childhood . The Sonic Advance series was something that blew me away as a kid. Seeing Sonic on a GBA was mind blowing at the time. To fully 100% was worth it all those Summers. Now I'm here waiting on the day Nintendo announces the Sonic Advance series on Nintendo Switch Online. The day that happens, I am going in on that as well as finally playing the multiplayer of those games with friends finally. I found Amy's gameplay to interesting and challenging. What she lacks with spin jump she more than makes up for with her gymnastics & Piko Piko Hammer
First, great job, Callie! I never bothered to get all the Emeralds in this game, but after watching this, I think I'll give it a shot on my GBA. :)
Second, I wholeheartedly agree on your take about Shadow. He and Sonic work so much better when they're doing their own things. To me, their rivalry has always been more symbolic than competitive, so whenever they end up fighting each other after SA2, it just feels forced.

Thanks to the fact ive homebrewed my 3ds, i can play all three advance games, also amy is a close 2nd to me, probably because i like cream i little bit more, but amy might as well also be my #1 favorite, alongside cream

10:43 I'd honestly love to see you tackle other riders content in the future, like Sonic Riders DX and the updated Tournament Edition, they've added additional characters and stuff to it. plus there's Re-Gravitified, a Sonic Riders Zero Gravity mod, I think you should try those out. :)
I do need to do a video for Zero Gravity at some point. The only problem with that, is I know no one who actually wants to play it with me XD Maybe one day!

For Sonic Advance 2 I recommend you play the hack "Low SP Ring Requirement" so collecting the chaos emeralds wouldn't be a chore

Advance 2 was the only one I ever got on official hardward. I later got the roms for 1 and 3 on Visual Boy Advance, but for a long time I only had 2. I loved it and still do, but the Special Stages were definitely a drawback. The stages themselves are fun, it's just how you get into them that sucks. Advance 2 was also my introduction to the Chao Garden, since I got it before either of the Adventures XD
The sprites in this trilogy are easily the best XD
Get your friends together and play Multiplayer sometime!
There’s a Team option in 1 that is kinda like a precursor to Advance 3.
Every character has a thing they can do with their partner to aid each other!
Knuckles and Tails’s are easy guesses
If Sonic’s partner walks past him while he’s charging a spin dash he’ll speed boost them
Amy can launch her partner with her hammer.

Umm, It's fine, I know it did make people upset.
But I really love how Amy is in Murder of Sonic the hedgehog. So if we're getting more of that characterization, I'm a happy camper!
I'm not gonna lie, I've never played the advanced trilogy, or any 2d sonic outside of mania plus, fan games like that flash game version of sonic advance, and sonic 1 using sonic forever. I don't count 5 minutes at my cousin's as having played a game, most if that us just booting it up. That said, i vaguely remember playing sonic battle at a McDonald's, might revisit that one, i remember it being fun and my introduction to the series actually.
The 2d Game are great, and highly recommend them! Sonic Origins Plus is a pretty okay away to experience the originals! Hopefully one day Sega might give us a way to appreciate the advance series again!

Also, callie, about the comment asking about a video for segasonic popcorn maker, you *could* justify making a video for it as opposed to a youtube short by biting the bullet and just covering the arcade games in one video, alongside maybe even doing a similar video for the games that probally wouldn't justify a full video for themselves alone (Sonic's schoolhouse, the sega pico games and sonic eraser as a couple examples)
As much of a Chao Garden fan I am, and am DYING for SEGA to bring that back in true form, it's better off as a side mode in a Sonic game. People who love Chao can only enjoy so much of the Chao Garden, till they get burnt out, if a full on Chao Garden game is what they are playing. The Chao Garden worked so well for Adventure 1 and Adventure 2, because it wasn't the main focus of the game. You played through regular stages in those two games, and could use what you earned through playing those stages, by carrying them over to the Chao Gardens to use on your Chao. We only have a shop to buy stuff in Adventure 1 DX, because the original Adventure 2 introduced it. Adventure 1 on the Dreamcast, did not have a shop. You had to use the VMU to get items for the Chao Garden. I LOVE Chao so much, but the Chao Garden does not work right if it's the main focus. It can only truly shine as a side mode. So uh, if fans beg SEGA for a purely Chao Garden game, and SEGA somehow responds, prepare for disappointment and easy burn-out
