When my daughter was 4, we took her to Disneyland. We had to wait for the train to cycle around several times because she thought we were going to be locked in the cage car. After seeing guests enter and leave a few times, she finally settled down and we got to ride the attraction. After than she had us riding that attraction sever times throughout the 3 days we were there.
Thank you for such a charming ride. The miniature work is excellent, and the train is a lot of fun to ride.

Growing up in Temple City, CA, my parents took us every year to Disneyland and Casey Jr was one of my favorites! Later, as a teenager in 1986, I had the opportunity to work at the Emporium on Main Street and also worked as a parade assitant for the Main Street Electrical Parade where Casey Jr. would chug on by twice nightly! Your video has brought me so much joy and sparked so many great memories!

What a lovely look at the Casey Juniors around the world. I've adored the Disneyland version since I was a child. When I finally got to DL Paris a few years ago, The Casey/canal area of the park was my favorite. The canal is absolutely breathtaking, and Casey's zippy run was so much fun. The California version will always have my heart but that area in Paris is the place I want so badly to revisit.

As a Anaheim native, i now supremely regret to say Casey Jr was under refurbishment during my first summer visit to DLP. I can’t wait to go back and admire all the tunnels!! ❤

Casey junior at Disneyland Paris is one of my favourites, and certainly a must do in the park!
Let me tell you a story Jim- about my relationship with Casey Junior, and how it built a lifelong memory for me and my son.
January 2023, my son was almost 3 years old, and we went with my wife and mother. He had a great time, and on our second day we decided to ride Casey Junior. I remember he sat on my lap (his size); and off we went. With every curve and undulation he laughed and giggled, I could feel his muscles tensing up as we went up and down but he loved it so much.
All he did that day as we walked around the park was sing “Casey junior….Casey junior”, and at dinner (in the wonderful sequoia lodge) all he did was tell us about the ride over and over.
Every day for the next 4 days, we rode Casey junior at least 4 times, sometimes the cast members just let us stay on. And every time he would sing his song “Casey junior, Casey junior” and laugh and giggle.
He is now 4, and now he has a sister, who he has already told “next time we go to Disney, we can ride Casey junior”.
Jim, I will never forget that first ride with my son, and so I have to thank you from the bottom of my heart for creating this experience.

Casey Jr and the rest of Storybook Land has been under refurbishment for several months now, the biggest it has seen! It’ll look better than ever when it reopens next month. I’ve always enjoyed that more “hidden” part of Fantasyland for its fantastic greenery, shade and vibes!

Hi Jim, you should have mentioned, that the Paris version features on-board audio and therefore it was the first coaster of its kind (before Space Mountain). Beside this, it was great to hear your story about this lovely ride.

Having gone predominately to Disneyland and then to Magic Kingdom only twice, I enjoy hear the back story if the evolution of the parks and the variations on these attractions. Thanks to google maps I can see the approach to the this expansion and Disneyland Paris. Being the Casey Jr is such a integral part at Disneyland as the backdrop to Fantasyland , it interesting to see how secluded this version is. I am surprised that beyond signage there is no structure that captures your attention in the distance. Was there ever any discussion of additional growth in the expanded park of the park?
Casey's / Storybook is perhaps the easiest attraction to add new movie release structures to the landscape. Is there a designated scale that the models on this attraction are built to? What's the typical size of the design team that is involved?
Have you worked on the any of the dark rides? I noticed that Disneyland Paris has an Alice and Wonderland Labyrinth, but no dark ride, well there is only one Alice dark ride at Disneyland. Is there a reason why no other Alice dark ride has been built?
Another great video. Look forward to seeing an episode! Thank you

    • @jimhshull
      @jimhshull  Před měsícem +1

So many great questions that I should do an episode to answer them all. When Disneyland opened in 1955 Casey Jr was on the very edge of the park with a public road directly behind the ride. The road later closed and Disneyland expanded to its current boarders. Regarding signage for the ride there is a sign on the train station. Small but its there. The scale of additions need to match the surrounding buildings. When the scale clash then solutions are found. Thanks for watching and tell your friends.

There are circuses in Europe, however the American circus and the European circuses are different. And Casey Jr is a character who was set in a time that’s more than 80 years in the past. Thanks for your comment, keep watching and tell your friends.
