The Blood Ravens are a bit more dogmatic than Raptors, but they do use their librarians to use their pre-vision to refine their battle plans and do value gathering knowledge, intelligence, and wargear for future use.
Truth is, when Raptors were listed in imperial records as MIA (in M37) they were really destroyed by Alpha legion. With time, Raptors chapter was rebuild, but this with Alpha legion legionares. With its history destroyed alongside their homeworld, they were ideal target for this role. Thats why Raptor's chapter tactics is so similar to Alpha legion's - they are the same.
Would love to make an army list of these guys and find some raptor dinos to take with them. Could just give them the same wolf stats that the space wolves use. *edit* damn they meant bird raptors not dino raptors...:(
They probably are the chapter you’d send to hunt the Alpha Legion, especially since Alpha Legionnaires can't help but be sneaky for the OCD sake of it, while Raptors are sneaky out of a sense of pragmatism, meaning that in a shadow war, Raptors probably would be able to outflank Alpha Legionnaires by being more efficient.

One of the few chapters to actually use the codex as intended. I love the honor crazed basic marine but it's hard not to appreciate the Raptors.
