Old Dominion is really something unique, and staying true to its roots! My favorite tradition is the morning after get together breakfast along with the 'award' ceremony, where every single finisher is called, given the mic, and for the sub24, get their buckle. Makes you realize that everyone matters
I got to partake in the beer aid station in Calgary a few weeks ago. I included it in my race video. It may have been de-alcoholized, but it was delicious.
Thanks for the update. FYI, the Marine Corps Marathon usually has beer and Fireball Whiskey stations between miles 22-25. They're probably not "race official" though.
Spring is in trouble. One of the founders posted a message saying "we realize we may have processed some batches that had lower than desired nutritional value". Nice try, not sure how they are going to win people back after this. Too bad for all of the athletes whose performances may or may not have been effected by this... crazy.

Great recap, love cycling but prefer just running news, but I'm okay with whatever as long as we can keep weekly news. Cheers!
Love the bike news. Gravel racing is the trail running of cycling 😁

Thanks for the updates

Fun fact: Old Dominion is the oldest 100.
Is it?
@@MountainOutpost States was 89 miles pre-1980. 93 miles til 1985. Then 100 after that. Davy has several articles about it.
how did they test all of those gels for $2800 when Koop, as he said, spent about $4000 to test, what, a few?
Actually a good question - different labs?
The gofundme group has posted their results on their page and used anresco laboratories.
How can I buy a cup of coffee at this diner for $5 when it cost $8 at the diner next to it?
The gofundme folks for posting that they regretted going with the cheaper lab, because the results took a lot longer.
Maasmarathon in Belgium\Netherlands had a beer aid station 20 years ago.
Probably real beer!
@@MountainOutpost it was!
Something tells me the entire production budget of this show was spent on the suit 🤣

There’s too many cheaper options out there anyway. I certainly won’t be going anywhere near them.
spring is garbage -- i took a gel from them at cocodona and took it on a training run that weekend and puked all over. Tastes gross too
