House gardens, surroundings land which is converted to concrete to avoid wild grass weeds or cannot manage the nature... Just come outside the house and you will find roads or cemented paths, cemented drain... Look at the cities from Air view concrete n roads everywhere so how can rain water absorb in land if there is no earth n only solid concrete or roads...? All the water will flow away from concerte to drain to sewage to canal to rivers to sea, ocean... Calculate the cycle and you will find the first reason of cities underground water drying up.
Dont concrete your house surroundings if u want your well to quench your thirst.

Making reservoirs wont help water from not depleting. I have seen people using hose pipes to wash their cars for hours and hours. Though underground boring is not allowed yet people have done it at a mass level and their water tanks overflow for hours and hours. No such laws for big organisation like 5 start hotels, resorts, hospitals, societies to make water treatment plant compulsory and for bigger factories, mills and plants too. New projects should only be passed if it has rain water harvesting system and water treatment plant with audit of it every year coz usually we Indians are worst in maintaining things. This should help us in maintaining a decent level of water in few years. 1 time rain if its water is preserved can be used for months by an entire city.

Number of rivers in india is very high and india faces every year flood related problems so if indian government link all f the river existing canals and construction some new Canales for irrigation water supply system than indian states like rajasthan ,punjab and haryana will be irrigated with rivers water and agriculture of India is get number one position in the world. farmers income and indian economy rise very fast, their have not any type of farmer suicide cases.
India have too much land that can be used in agriculture production but due to deficiency of available water their is nothing.
