Love how he goes from charming to concerned in half a second when he notices she's worried. Then he goes and helps her. Through the film though, I like how he's not just helping the team for Jenna but for Rosie too. He's not doing it to get the girl, he's doing it to help the kids
That's why Balto is a beloved character, he deserved the happiness he got.

Yep. At his lowest point, right before he sees the White Wolf, he cries out "Rosie". Not Jenna, but "Rosie".
I'm glad he loved Jenna and that they get together, but he did all this for those kids.
Yep because Rosie showed him love too. Actually, one could argue that he showed Balto love before Jenna even did.
When I was little, part of me used to be annoyed at Jenna. She always seemed to ignore Balto because of Rosy. Now as an adult, knowing and having a much deeper understanding for the inseparable bond between dogs and their humans, I can't help but love Jenna. She's a sweet girl who loves Rosy and wants to be there with her, possibly even feeling some separation anxiety. I know now that she was never 'ignoring' Balto at all. It's hard to be happy, even around someone you like, when you're consumed with worry for your family.
Bridget Fonda was the perfect choice for the role of Jenna. Her voice is so beautiful.

Although she and Maurice LaMerche (who voiced Balto in the sequels) didn't exactly have the same chemistry as Kevin Bacon and Bridget had.
It’s nice how between the love triangle of Balto, Jenna, and Steele when Balto approaches Jenna he notices something concerns her and takes it upon himself to see why and help and even comfort because he puts her first before his own interests. Steele on the other hand only talks through his power and popularity thinking that’s all he needs to flaunt when he doesn’t care of Jennas feelings or concern for her person. Which really separates what’s true love and what’s a fraud

Fun fact: Balto's two-tone gray fur colors and pattern were based on Tramp from Disney's Lady and the Tramp (1955). However in real life his fur was black.

Makes sense that they changed it, since he's in that gray area between wolf and dog.

One of my favorite animated movies. Love how Jenna, Rosy, and Star are the only ones who don't hate Balto. This scene is beautiful and sad at the same time because Rosy is ill and Balto shows Jenna a beautiful thing.

I was born in 1999, yet I didn't remember watching it. Yet when I rewatched it recently, I was like "Wow I was a fucking dumbass for not watching it"

The fact that Balto cares about Rosie and like Jenna does is just really sweet it’s clear in this scene that he’d do anything to make Rosie better because he loves Jenna plus unlike Steele Balto is kind to Jenna, shows her a beautiful sight (the northern lights) which has a deeper meaning and doesn’t try to flirt with her he’s just being himself and knows that Jenna likes him just the way he is
As a child I never understood their romance or why Balto sent Jenna back to none after she got injured and I was disappointed but I now as an adult realise it’s because he wanted to keep Jenna safe and that due to her injury she couldn’t carry on and it would’ve been safer for her to stay in nome also Balto had to go alone because it’s a journey that he had to make on his own not only to find and save Steele and his team and guide them back home but also to discover who he really truly is ❤
The voice actors did a great job voicing the characters, this was unlike any movie i've ever watched

I love these two so much.
As a teen, even then, I really liked Balto like some form of 'Disney prince', but more the rugged, handsome 'underdog' type, ROFL. And also had a crush on Kevin Bacon. But only many years later I found out Kevin voiced my animation crush. So, it was no wonder. 😂❤ I was stupid on different levels, but the joy I got from discovering that was, felt biblical.
