I mean, she was already pretty perfect, fitness-wise, to begin with. Not a lot of "improvement" to show. That's where all of these ads go wrong IMO. Same thing with the Hydroxycut ads I've been seeing: she goes from....almost no visible fat to almost no visible fat, wow, what a huge change!
Right? Like... what's the message here? Her life changed because the instructor said her name?? She seemed more hype about that than anything else.
@@Felicat82 Unless losing visible fat was not the change she was looking for, and she went from being totally winded after a ten minute session to being able to nicely handle an hour plus. I know how much better I feel in general when I'm in shape instead of out, and my visible fat has little to do with that.

When they promoted this channel on a TVSins video (how I discovered this in the first place, obviously), I noticed classic commercials in it. I'm waiting for those instead of ones from the past 2-3 years.
There are some very unsettling Fanapt schizophrenia medication commercials you need to do, particularly the park commercial.

i hate the backlash this commercial got because he gave her an exercise bike. Like everyone assumed he was telling her to get in shape or lose weight rather than her asking him for one or maybe making comments throughout the year about wanting to start using an exercise bike or something. Some women like working out people. Sometimes they ask for exercise items from their boyfriends/husbands/etc. Heck, I love getting exercise clothing and fitness watches.

This is what I don't get about the Peloton backlash: Why did people immediately assume that it's the husband telling her that she needs to lose weight? Ik that you have to make up the context yourself but that is not at all what I came up with. I would have rather assumed that she always wanted a Peloton but never got around to buying it. Maybe she shared with her husband that she would really like to start exercising on one.
And even just objectively, a scenario like that (where it was something that she wanted) seems more likely to me and more supported by the imagery we see than the very narrow and specific context that people decided to ascribe to it.
Agree. People added their own context to it. Maybe they should have built into the commercial her asking for one to clarify but I don't think their intent was to say the husband thought she needed to lose weight. Anyone who likes biking wouldn't want one of these for indoors? I want one.

Peloton is French for platoon. In cycling, it's the term for a group of riders. The bike has nothing to do with group rides, but maybe they chose it because of the connectivity to spin classes?

Because English companies don't typically name their products based on other languages (there are far too many languages out there to realistically do that). Just like the car "Nova" had to have a different name in Spanish-speaking countries, because 'no va' means 'doesn't go' (obviously not a good name for a car).

Realistically the people who are going to buy this would not have this clear after a year it would become a dumping ground for dirty laundry and completly forgotten that you even had excersize equipment inside your house. Then you'd get the next excersize fad to come out use that for a month at most and the cycle of excersize equipment turing into dirty laundry storage continues. Basically what I'm saying is in no world would this ever be considered a good Christmas gift. You might as well buy them a new washer and dryer so they can stop leaving their dirty laundry over random junk they don't use and actually clean their cloths.

This doesn't seem to be a finnish company but I already thought that they had a wordplay with the word Peloton because it means Fearless in Finnish. You know, being fearless about exercising. How did they come up with Peloton? Judging by their website that name is just a coincidence and nothing to do with Finland or Finnish.
A peloton is a group of cyclists in a race. Doesn't quite make sense for a name given you're by yourself at home, but still bike related, I suppose.
