Carry at least one can of Holts Tyre Weld for emergencies to pump up your tyres and seal the puncture with foam with small punctures after removing the foreign matter causing the puncture, running a tyre flat for any distance can seriously damage the wall so it won't seal with the rim safely so watch that. Supposed to be a temporary fix but seems to last forever. Really useful when you get a puncture in a dangerous situation your best getting out of on the quick side.

Where do you find the kerb weight! On a car? And the nose weight?

  • @chrisandalfieoutdoorsadven1857

I pass my test last year and I have to wait to pass the B&E before I tow a 2 berth caravan

If the caravan and towing vehicle is below 3.5 tons combined weight you don't need your b+e if your towing over 3.5 tons your need the addiction.

You will also need adequate breakdown cover when driving a Disco .... 😀..,good video but if you don’t know these basics then maybe not for the faint hearted ....

eeekkk... why did you put that breakaway cable around the detacheabe tow bar on the Disco4...!! should be through the eyelet provided else wont work if the towbar comes off...

Simon Roberts there’s a big recovery eye between the tow sockets and if you only tow a small trailer that tow bar is ok but for towing a big or regular tow a trailer you need a fixed tow bar

Hi Sydney. You don’t need a fixed towball to tow a big caravan. Hope that Helps Oliver

      Caravanning with the Coxs
Landrover have a service action on thought tow balls as they are not strong enough and wear the socket out
The action is a new crossmember and a fixed tow bar
(Jump the gun and just use a fix tow bar)

Simon if no breakaway point is available then round the towball is perfectly legal and safe enough to do so.

The term towing a trailer incl HGV's,Tanks,Recovery vehicles,Company Vehicles,Home owner
vehicles,ETC is wrong.Put a plain flat washer on a flat surface which has a large centre hole
then place say a pencil in that hole & move that washer around with the pencil, It does not matter
which direction you move that pencil moving the washer it's always PUSHING it NOT pulling it.
So the term is wrong for towing a trailer but pushing it.Reversing a trailer you then end up still
pushing it,the same applies to tow ropes or straight bars as every eyelet is pushing. The only
time anything is towed It has to be solid & rigid. Prove me wrong. I'm an Army Ex fully qualified
mechanic who tries to think correctly. You may disagree then you are wrong.
