Bespoke Adventure in London | First Fitting of my New Tuxedo from Kent Haste & Lachter | Black Tie

- In today's video, I'm back in London for an exciting first fitting of my latest commission from London's master bespoke tailors Kent, Haste, and Lachter!
Throughout the years, I've commissioned more bespoke pieces from Kent Haste & Lachter than from any other tailor in London. With each commission, our relationship has deepened, enhancing the entire bespoke experience. From my initial double commission with John Kent and Terry Haste to the latest linen suit, each piece has been a unique adventure, culminating in a truly remarkable journey.
The latest addition to my wardrobe, as recommended by Terry, is a stylish but classic dinner suit, or "tuxedo" as we call it here in America. Known in the UK as a 'dinner jacket', this piece, drawing inspiration from traditional military and black tie ensembles, represents the pinnacle of British tailoring. And where better to have one's bespoke tuxedo made than in the city that created it: London!
So, join me for another civilized journey to a bygone era as we step back into Kent Haste & Lachter for what promises to be another thrilling first fitting!

Suyamba is peak ASMR, I'm gonna need me a loop of all her scenes to fall asleep to 😊
I really enjoy the Kent Haste episodes. Thanks for posting.
Im surprised he visited again! I hope he always comes back lol
Agreed. They are my favorite team!
my favorite love this bunch of talented people
I miss John. Hope his knees are better.
Good to see you back with the crew Kirby.
Can’t help but immediately watch and video with Terry, Suyamba, and Stephen. I enjoy their camaraderie, humor, and artisanship!
I see Suyamba, I click.
🦍
She's so pretty! And her hair is mesmerising. John is a pleasure to watch also 😂
I mean we’re only simple people😂
@@wreagfewht do u mean by this?

He's saying the guy is a gorilla for admiring her
Kirby's style has really improved through the years. No longer can he be accused of looking like a funeral director. He's really embraced a wider range of colour.
Beige?
Even if he did dress like a funeral director, there's still a big difference between a well-dressed one and a poorly-dressed one! 😊
Recall, he was called a funeral director by a guy, whose dress is 5 standard deviations outside of the mean.
@@brucer6239 You mean Max? Yeah at least five! 🤣
@@thechairman74 I was referring to Nick, but Max is out there, too!
Extremely classy team. Especially Suyamba.
It's amazing they use Persian words Seersucker @2:31 from the Persian phrase Shir-O-Shekar, meaning “Milk and Sugar”. When you pour milk into a heap of sugar, you get that wavy texture which is the charactristics in the Seersucker fabric. Again It's amazing they use the Persian word: @8:49 Kamarband کمربند . Any Belt in Persian is called kamarband and not the Tuxedo Belt. To Band بند in Persian means packing or closing.
Fascinating - thank you.
the cigars got the better of you again, Kirby?! lol 🙂
lmao
Seems to be recurring with Kirby, I'd be medically cautious and checking on that regularly what with the increased incidents of throat cancers i.e. Michael Douglas, Val Kilmer et. al. .

Don’t be a Debbie Downer!
Michael Douglas' throat cancer was due to his penchant for cunnilingus, and the transferable bacteria in that nether region. Nothing to do with smoking cigars...His wife almost left him due to the implication thst she had a dirty....
I've missed these lot
The Kent Haste videos are my favorite. Great work, Kirby.
Oh wow. I'd been rewatching the other fittings videos today and now we're treated with a new one. Manifested it.
FINALLY! I was so eager to watch another tailoring video
Kirby, you always find an excuse to visit London🇬🇧
The gang in there are wonderful. Collected my new trousers from them a few weeks ago. Mollie struck the pattern; Sury and Terry did the fittings. They are completely first class; can’t recommend them enough. My evening shirts in the army for my mess kit was always Marcella fronted.
How much did they cost you if I may ask?
@@Najdorf_ £1350…..50% at measuring…..remainder on completion. I had three fittings.
To watch a short story with a continuation of follow. Listening and watching equally and not being bored in it all. Bravo!
Another Kent and Haste!! I love to watch hiw skilled and professional they are, but they're alao incredibly down-to-earth and relatable. These are my favorite videos.
Love this lot and all their skills! Thank you!
Thankyou Kirby can't wait to see it finished most excellent 👏
Oh man, cream silk marcella... That is crazy! Can't wait to see all of this come together!
Another great video, thank you Kirby!
stunning! all the right choices made a shirt as rare as hens teeth, just brilliant.
Such incredibly knowledgeable craftsman, this will certainly be an amazing bespoke suit !!!
Looking forward to seeing it done up. Very interesting
Absolutely love your content Kirby. Best wishes and safe travels 🙏🏼👏🏼😉
That young woman is stunning!❤
She is a beauty for sure and bright. If I was a single young man....
Nonce alert 🚨
@@wongfeihung9724 Don't worry mate, i'll get it done for us both.
@@wongfeihung9724you wouldn’t have a chance bubs 😂
Kirby, a suggestion for another video - visit Longmire. Their selection of matching cufflinks and dress studs is incomparable: so elegant and understated.
Great episode Kirby!
I was excited for another episode from the Italy chronicles, but thoroughly enjoyed this one as well! Cheers :)
I’m so excited to see the shirt
that is a beautiful suit. I have to say, the things you wear inspire me to continue to keep dressing more on point.
Kirby who is from Texas ,commenting on how hot it was in England, reminded me when i was in Miami and locals did a same thing about how chilly it was Lol
Its wild that Kirby is able to lose his voice every time in England, this could be studied.
First time viewer, but instant subscriber!
Awesome content
Ill be in London in June. Definitely will try to go see them.
When he asked how traditional do you want to be we all knew that he was going to win with no vent 😂
Grat pleasure to watch. Personally I prefer the dinner Jacket with a U-style west.
The finished Silk Shirt looks Perfect. Steven Showed me in octobr in New York
03:18 ‘Kickstarting her broomstick’ 😂
LOL very good.
Looks like Anderson tartan... My clan. ❤
Kirby, your singing voice is sounding coarse! Stay away from the Davidoff cigars! LOL. Otherwise, love Kent Haste. Exceptional house.
Excellent! The facing and the quality of the cloth, including the dress shirt, should be spectacular! How about also commission a velvet smoking jacket so you have something nice to wear après-dîner while enjoying a cigar?
Can I mention how much I love that linen suit, would love to know what watch and shoes you paired it with.
Suyumba is beautiful and the whole team are charming and talented
Waistcoat > cummerbund. Although that tartan one was pretty sharp.
Really enjoy every trip to London. I hope you're attending the Habanos World Days there in few weeks!
I sure am! We have a massive, very exciting documentary on Trinidad we’ll be releasing next week ahead of the HWD! Our biggest and best project to date ever!
@@kirbyallisonBigger than Cuba? 😮😮😮
These are my most favorite. How is the other gentleman? Wished he could be on when these are msde
Kirby, you resemble the late country and western star Hank Williams. Have you ever thought about taking up the guitar? You would make a great tribute act.
These are my favourite videos that you do. This is England 😊
I think their house tweed jacket is among your best commissions...though I'm a bit surprised you didn't go with Henry Poole for this commission, as they originated the dinner jacket
YAYYYYYY😂❤😂❤ LOVE YA KIRBS
Its like meditation watching the crew in action, esp the lady who has a soft, etheric presence.
I’m have a grosgrain shawl lapel SB midnight barathea 12oz dinner suit made by Redmayne currently. Agree with Kirby, no better place to have evening wear made than a British tailor.
Looking good. i personally prefer my DB dinner suit and off white dinner jacket but then again living in Canada heavy heat and humidity are only problematic in summer when it can be Amazonian! My next one will no doubt be single breasted if the planet keeps warming up and 12oz.. seems to be on the money for more comfort!
Another video with the great tailoring team! I assume now you will be commissioning a) a cumberbund and b) a white tie...
Cocktail cuffs!
Is it purposeful that the blade of your tie is long and showing? I was under the impression the blade should be placed in the keeper and to not be visible. Thoughts?
It’s a trendy thing that seems to Kirby favour. I think for most growing up we were taught to hide it away in the keeper. But it’s an old new tradition
Some time ago I read sometimes it’s meant to signal a relaxed or laid back feel.
Yeah I'm too OCD to allow the tie blade to extend past the front. I'd retie it just so it would at least match. But Kirby never even slips the blade into the loop on the back. I always did that. In Kirby's case, it's probably just an expression of sprezzatura.
I have unlined tweed sport coat for summer
When I think of dinner jackets I think of the black on black pairing that Mads Mikkleson sports in Casino Royale.
😂😂😅 Mate I was at Goodwood Revival last year. Mate, it only got to 24/25°C. For this Australian, beautiful weather, although a bit rainy Sunday.
You were at the same Goodwood Revival as Kirby then, because given that its in September, this was filmed around that time last year :)
@@raymondberg7385 Seems so… I go every other year. Can’t say I saw our Kirby though. Although I was pretty busy with the cars and all. I had no idea on the day he was there. Besides, there are a lot of people filming so you tend to switch off to it all.
Nice to see you are back with the family, john kent retired in 2022 another old face gone.
Another superb video Kirby. When were you filming this?
I'd like to know as well.
They talk about Goodwood revival.. So it would've been in September last year.
Yep September 2023. So hopefully the next episode is already in the can
Yes. It was filmed in September of last year. We’ve just finished the third fitting and should be delivering the piece this June ahead of the Habanos World Days.
Lol Kirby looks like Sheldon from big bang
hey if they have kirby's measurements already then whu do they need to re measure they can use the measurements they have taken for the linen jacket and use it for the tux and kirby has not put on weight so the trousers will be the same measurements!!!
Anyone else concerned that Kirby's tie length is always off? More concerning still is that the small end is often visibly poking out under the large end.
In earlier videos he says he likes that as a personal style element.
Kirby is there any chance you’re wearing a Charles Tyrwhitt Egyptian cotton shirt there?
🙏🙏❤
Hi Kirby, your videos are awesome.
Small two cents from me, i think it's time to grow out that beard a touch ol boy. A clean trim short beard would accentuate your appearance further.
around 22:00 "the single stripe is for a dinner suit, the double stripe is for"... what was it?
White tails
Was this filmed in Summer 2023?
Yes! Sat on this one for a while…
Is that the Anderson tartan?
Yes. Certainly looks like it. I have Anderson tartan ties and scarves 👍
Por más añitos aquí en la tierra y algún día por la eternidad amén con los que amamos el mundo entero y gracias por tanto amor y cuidarnos de todo mal a los que amamos el mundo entero gracias por tanto amor ❤
I spy with my little eye something beginning with ‘Syrup’.
Speculation mounts again over new James Bond. Rumors have been swirling about a certain Kirby Allison will step into the Oxfords of the world’s most famous secret agent.
Her expressions are like posh Johnny English
The woman looks kinda like Lisa Bonet
1:53 everyone on here cuz of her, having a woman like that around your presence, make you feel mad diff
Goodwood Revival? is this from 2023?
When are you going to get a bespoke huntsman suit from the UK and a bespoke anderson & sheppard suit from the UK.
Terry used to be the MD and head cutter at Huntsman - so the house style for KH is essentially Huntsman (and more true to the original than what either Huntsman or Richard Anderson are now producing)
@@DavidShields-iv4oc no
@@adamali2886 No? As someone who wears both Huntsman and K&H, and have seen dozens of jackets from RA, yes!
@@DavidShields-iv4oc i own huntsman
Kirby aleays sounds like hes smoked a few too many cigars when he gets to london lol.
Kirby sounds very sick in this video. Also, shirt sleeves are too short for the linen suit….tie is also tied improperly.
the audio and video are not kirby standards
Throat sounds a bit raspy , maybe try some honey & whisky.
Is John not in these programs anymore?
Whats happened to John?
He retired. A few videos back he said he was retiring because he just couldn't stand up for long periods of time anymore.
Aesthetically I like the no-vent look, but is impractical to perform in; sitting on one's jacket is very annoying.
No vents for standing… double vents for sitting.
Kirby! Was great “bumping into you” on Hampstead Heath the other night 😘👨🏻❤️💋👨🏻👨🏻❤️👨🏻
Isn't "Bespoke" just a snooty word for custom-made?😄
gg
Black balance is terribly blue. Either that or your color correction is off.
Adjust your tie old boy! The tail should not extend past the blade! Instant headlock and unlimited beanos for that offence!
