The Old Balete Tree in Siquijor

The Balete tree on the island of Siquijor is the third-oldest tree in the Philippines. Believed to be over 400 years old, the Balete tree is a popular tourist destination for residents and foreigners alike.

This is what our Helper's told me about an enchanted tree in their place in Siquijor that bore fishes. One lonesome night this magnanimous tree flickered minute lights seemingly like fireflies in the night. So numerous that it lightens up the whole tree! So beautiful to watch which is rare according to their Elders.
