I just picked up two of the rare beauty lip oils. They were exactly what I was looking for. I am going on a cruise shortly and I wanted something that would leave a stain so that I didn’t have to constantly monitor my lipstick. I also didn’t want the drying affect of a liquid lipstick.
These type products really ARE the perfect solution!
The original Merit lip oils didn’t stain on my lips and that’s what I wanted when I used it. I saw these last month but chose not to buy them because swatched on my hand it was so sheer.
Today, I tried them out and so glad I did! I noticed they left the stain and there was more pigment than what I saw on my hand. I bought Mapleton.
These don’t have the plumping affect like Rare Beauty ones. They are also leaving less pigmented stains. But I don’t mind.
Hello there! Yes. It is two different formulas. The original lip oils are just that, and nurturing oil but the newest gelee versions leave a stain. And they are lovely

I like these colors a lot! I tend to use lip oils at night to keep my lips moist while I sleep. I think the Merit Beauty colors will keep me from waking up with lip oil stains on my pillow cases and sheets.
Ain't THAT the truth. been there, done that, pillow stains as proof!
I have never tried a lip oil so maybe it’s time that I did. The mapleton looks like a lovely shade to start with 😊💕
They did it right. Just enough stain. Just enough gloss. Just enough lip care. This is a good one.

This is definitely a better option for the Rare ones. At least to me. I don’t like strong stains on my lips

You are delightful! I wanted to try the red Rare Beauty blush for a while so I ordered that and the Maraschino lip oil to go together. I also got the Mapleton shade of refresh the shine on my Rare Beauty lip oil without adding much more color. Excited!!

Rebecca, these remind me of the Lip Glosses that Lethal released last year. They hardly had any pigment to them but a slight touch of colour that changed the product underneath. I don't know how a Lip Oil will go on my lips. When I've used regular oils in the past, they don't seem to settle in. These appear to be quite different as your test showed. I'll save this video for when the time comes to purchase a new product. Thanks so much for showing and testing all of these products that I wouldn't know about if not for you. What a star!🌠 🇦🇺💖🕊
How kind of you! This is a fun one. I like the fact that after the glow is gone the tint remains. It’s a very nice way to do lip color without having to constantly touch it up. I don’t think any of these new oils are really all that lip oil like. I am the lip product queen because I have such dry lips and neither of these really feel that much like an oil. Much more like a gel.

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I'm like that with lipstick! I've got a few that have disappeared completely, never to be recovered. If ever my current favourite isn't in its spot, I know that it'll be in my handbag. As my regular vehicle is a small Motorhome, Ford Transit, I don't reach over and put things in the glove box. That's full of a First Aid Kit, driving gloves, the SAS Survival Guide and other things that reference being on the road. One less place to store things! Problem is that I have a bundle of handbags that I keep swapping around and I'm always searching through them. It was only a few weeks ago that I stored all my Lip Glosses together in one container. I had bought another six from ABH and desperately needed somewhere to put them. I'm getting better organised, little by little - slowly.💖

I had gone to get one the the Mario ones and I ended up returning it. It didn't last for even 30 min's! I was really disappointed as I loved the color

I read that they are much more pigmented on the lips and look different on everyone bc they designed the oils to adjust to the Ph balance of your lips
Agreed. But, that being said, so much of that Ph stuff is marketing speak. When you think about it, Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks always look orange on me. They go pink on others. So the Ph component is always at play, you know?

@@beautifulcorpse8202 totally. It’s like when a gasoline company say that their brand of gasoline cleans your engine. In reality, even though it’s flammable and dangerous, gasoline is a cleanser. So they’re taking a certain thing that all gasoline does anyway and making it the selling point. I believe all color reacts differently with the skin tone and underlying base etc. etc. In other words any color applied to the face has a bit of a pH reaction. They just make that the marketing standpoint. I really believe that to be true.

Does the merit lip color in maraschino turn into that hot pink stain like most of those ph lip products? Which is your favorite?
Hello Sydney! My favorite is the Mapleton. Maraschino is like a hot pink red. But not that disgusting hot pink that most of those PH lip products turn, thankfully, or you would’ve heard my frustrated scream when I applied it. Ha ha

I wish there was more differentiation among the shades. The first is my favorite as well. But the colors do end up looking fairly similar, just a bit darker as they go along.
Hi Rebecca my friend sorry 🙏 I'm late to watch but I was busy doing laundry and cleaning out my cat's litter boxes now she has 2 one for downstairs and one upstairs of my house 🏡 cause she's older cat 🙀 and noticed she has trouble getting up and down on the stairs cause of hip joints and I noticed for awhile she was hesitant the stairs at times and found out she peed on my master bath 🛀 room accent rug so it told me she couldn't make it and she had a UTI cause she's a female 🚺 LOL 😂 poor kitty 🐈 but now she's happier ... so far 🤞🙏👍💋💕🙋♀️🍀 hope you got my photos of Bellagio and my husband and I being silly 😋 for the 2023 Spring season floral display 🌷🐣🐇🥚 happy Easter weekend!

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty nope she's doing better now so that's good so far but she might have a loose tooth coming since she does have bad teeth when we first got her they said the foster parent said the Vet said she has gingivitis and bacteria from her mother im assuming she wasn't taken care of when the cat 🙀 was born ... sad 😔

I bought Joy from Rare Beauty and it doesn’t leave a stain for me….. but I’m always the weirdo that things react differently on 😅 I’m def getting one of these Merits during the Sephora sale - love the other 2 I have.

I can NOT, for the life of me, feel the mint in the Rare product and people are telling me that it lingers for an hour. I'm like, "WHAT mint???" So you and I can be weirdos together!
