Was just trying to salute medical workers from the compassionate in my own heart. I have several family members in the medical field as well. Don't know where all this hate is coming from. Normally I don't respond to it because I understand hate comments come from 14 year old who are just on the internet all day and need some attention, and we've all been there. But I'm replying because I didn't even know I had this many likes and so I want to use that to once again salute Dr. Bai and all the other heroes around the world right now. Just know that the 99.99% of the rest of us (who are normal) actually appreciate your efforts.
They're having their pay cut and being fired for speaking out. It's not about who the heroes are but who the villains are. Things should never have reached this point.
Society rewards the wrong people, actors playing pretend, singers, authors can all be rewarded millions or even billions yet the essential people that keep society functioning from garbage collection and disposal, electricians, doctors, nurses, midwives, mental health workers, teachers, postal workers, delivery drivers, plumbers, engineers, constructions workers, police.....and so so many more good people who work hard in their field to keep society functioning. All of these people and many more provide an invaluable service to all communities, large or small and many of them are underpaid, unappreciated, overworked, unsupported whilst A-List celebrities soak up the cream of the wealth, financiers - many of whom are glorified gamblers, politicians who pick and choose when to be transparent, break promises, feed information to the public not for the good of society but frequently for their own agenda or the agenda of the people behind them. It’s so wrong and vapid. Whilst these celebrities get patted on the back for donating a million here or 10million over there and get lauded for it and yes it’s a nice gesture but it makes me feel a bit sick to think these people think nothing of donating millions almost like the average persons drops their loose change to help the local homeless. It is wrong that those with much have too much and then other people have to go without when there is clearly enough for everybody to go around. How did society get this way.

Put yourself in their shoes. They are in the presence of high viral loads for a full shift. PPE definitely does a lot to help, but a single mistake when doffing can result in an infection. It is scary and it is only normal if they're scared. A young Dr. like Dr. Bai will probably get the mild form of the disease, if he does contract it, so long as he's getting a full 8 hours sleep every night. Also, if he can manage, using hydrothermal therapy when he gets off shift will help a lot. God bless him and all healthcare workers.
Rennie Allen I think a lot of doctors don’t get the option to get 8 hours of sleep a night. Some work 16 hours or 24 hours shift. Sometimes you can lay in bed for hours and not be able to sleep especially of the things you see and worry in your mind. Tough spot for healthcare workers. They are heroes.

You know, I like to consider myself a pretty damn good person. Well I was informed by the principal that people from my daughter's school died from this virus... So NO! I don't think kids, parents and teachers are acting... And neither he is. As one of my friends from China said when this was going on in her country:"Protect your family getting everything you need for them to stay at home. The difference is now that they are faced with a virus they can't properly protect themselves against, and it is killing nurses. Its killing police officers, fire fighters, medics, techs. And we can't stop it from killing, we can't properly protect ourselves. Go work a shift in a busy hospital in a large city then tell me what you think.
Comparing this doctor’s PPE with that of Italy, South Korea, China and many other countries, it is obvious our frontline workers are NOT adequately protected. If they fall, where do we go? We have to do everything to make sure they have the best PPE first!
Also considering hospitals are a breeding ground, everyone literally is asked to wear a mask. Everybody can't. I have a job that is deemed essential so I have to work plus you can't always stay home. You're eventually going to have to leave to get groceries,medicine, doctors appointments and more.
I'm so mad at some of my friends saying that hospitals are not at all busy and there is no lack of supplies for healthcare workers. No healthcare worker should have to go without being with their families - but it's understandable why some are minimizing risks and do live separately. But it enrages me when people aren't taking the stay at home orders correctly and think hanging out with family in other homes is acceptable, because of this behavior is the reason why the healthcare industry is so heavily taxed and they have a long journey ahead.
I am a doctor in Sydney. Honestly I cant tell you how draining it has been over the last 3 weeks. I can't even imagine how exhausted doctors in New York are.

Ronnie Jones Ordinary people do not work in ICUs. They are all full of covid-19 patients. Cardiac ICUs, Neurological ICUs, pediatric ICUs, surgical ICUs, all full and now step down floors converted into ICUs.. It's bad and getting worse. We use transport ventilators as ICU ventilators. Not ideal. we haven't seen any government issued equipment or PPE. That's an inside look at the crisis.

FJ HAYDN Nothing like War!! These drs go home to a soft bed, they get breaks, and can quit at anytime. It’s a medical procedure to save lives. Brave of them to continue for sure and God bless them. But an actual War is not comparable. “War Zone” is misused to represent what is going on today. An actual Hospital treating War Hero’s is something of nightmares. Saving lives & taking them not the same. Nonetheless medical workers are doing an amazing job! As we all are sacrificing and isolating.

Yes they are vital. When we get sick, we turn to them. They must get exhausted, working 14 hour shifts, the anxiety, they're coping as best as possible. Let's also give a shout out for our mail carriers, delivery services, ALL vital services needed to survive.
And in Australia people are spitting at our healthcare providers. People can be so low, when it may be the doctor they spat at that intubates them to save their life.

Yeah. It's tough. We're all human and we can only take so much... I think that's going to be a huge problem - the burnout. It's going to happen. The human body can't sustain working that much that hard for so long. I think we'll see a lot of good people leaving the field next year. The stress of working +12 hr shifts and risking your health (and family's) will get to a lot of people.

Was just trying to salute medical workers from the compassionate in my own heart. I have several family members in the medical field as well. Don't know where all this hate is coming from. Society rewards the wrong people, actors playing pretend, singers, authors can all be rewarded millions or even billions yet the essential people that keep society functioning from garbage collection and disposal, electricians, doctors, nurses, midwives, mental health workers, teachers, postal workers, delivery drivers, plumbers, engineers, constructions workers, police.....and so so many more good people who work hard in their field to keep society functioning. All of these people and many more provide an invaluable service to all communities, large or small and many of them are underpaid, unappreciated, overworked, unsupported whilst A-List celebrities soak up the cream of the wealth, financiers - many of whom are glorified gamblers, politicians who pick and choose when to be transparent, break promises, feed information to the public not for the good of society but frequently for their own agenda or the agenda of the people behind them. It’s so wrong and vapid. Whilst these celebrities get patted on the back for donating a million here or 10million over there and get lauded for it and yes it’s a nice gesture but it makes me feel a bit sick to think these people think nothing of donating millions almost like the average persons drops their loose change to help the local homeless. It is wrong that those with much have too much and then other people have to go without when there is clearly enough for everybody to go around. How did society get this way.

Put yourself in their shoes. They are in the presence of high viral loads for a full shift. PPE definitely does a lot to help, but a single mistake when doffing can result in an infection. It is scary and it is only normal if they're scared. A young Dr. like Dr. Bai will probably get the mild form of the disease, if he does contract it, so long as he's getting a full 8 hours sleep every night. Also, if he can manage, using hydrothermal therapy when he gets off shift will help a lot.

Rennie Allen I think a lot of doctors don’t get the option to get 8 hours of sleep a night. Some work 16 hours or 24 hours shift. Sometimes you can lay in bed for hours and not be able to sleep especially of the things you see and worry in your mind. Tough spot for healthcare workers. They are heroes.

I don't have any experience in the medical field, but I do know what it's like to have someone die in your arms. A person looking to YOU to save them, and you are POWERLESS to help. I never knew what true helplessness felt like until that day. It's like someone was STRETCHING OUT MY HEART from my throat to my stomach.
If I had to endure that, multiple times a day, without venting or my family/support system, I'm not ashamed to admit I'd break down, and rather quickly.

Well I was informed by the principal that people from my daughter's school died from this virus... So NO! I don't think kids, parents and teachers are acting... And neither he is.

I'm so mad at some of my friends saying that hospitals are not at all busy and there is no lack of supplies for healthcare workers.
No healthcare worker should have to go without being with their families - but it's understandable why some are minimizing risks and do live separately. But it enrages me when people aren't taking the stay at home orders correctly and think hanging out with family in other homes is acceptable, because of this behavior is the reason why the healthcare industry is so heavily taxed and they have a long journey ahead.
Yeah being away from wife and kid won't be easy.

Cardiac ICUs, Neurological ICUs, pediatric ICUs, surgical ICUs, all full and now step down floors converted into ICUs.. It's bad and getting worse. We use transport ventilators as ICU ventilators. Not ideal. we haven't seen any government issued equipment or PPE. That's an inside look at the crisis.

Yes they are vital. When we get sick, we turn to them. They must get exhausted, working 14 hour shifts, the anxiety, they're coping as best as possible. Let's also give a shout out for our mail carriers, delivery services, ALL vital services needed to survive.

Yeah. It's tough. We're all human and we can only take so much... I think that's going to be a huge problem - the burnout. It's going to happen. The human body can't sustain working that much that hard for so long. I think we'll see a lot of good people leaving the field next year. The stress of working +12 hr shifts and risking your health (and family's) will get to a lot of people.
