- Handmade wooden raven pendant. This is carved out of birch burl wood. I went for a simple jewelry design for this raven pendant and i think i had success with it.

Great animal to do a video with. Loved the humor bit at the beginning. So jelous of your work environment! Am I crazy or am I the only one who uses their pendants as a soothing element? I rub my wolf's muzzle when im in deep thought or stressed. Oh well! Great job, Jonas! Cheers!

if you want the raven black then you can use black lead that is for a range stove. or carve it in oak then put rusty nails in vinegar for about 4 to 5 days it turns oak black then burnish.It also turns leather black don’t buy those expensive dyes.. great job btw
I started out this way as a woodcarver, but I got sick of the stupid comments like "nice firewood". I learned to carve wax and cast in metal. the raven, if scaled down a bit, would be a nice piece in metal. if you can carve wood, wax is a piece of cake.

wax is so forgiving. try Kerr carving wax. You'd probably like the purple or green. I like green the best, sharp details.
I do a lot of animals and nature based themes. yeah, I still woodcarve and I've learned to ignore the idiots.

and it still amazes me that people will pay me more for my cast metal pieces than my made by me woodcarvings. go figure.

Number two video as good as the first one I watched this morning, I would say that time lapse is very good, but if I was to say it is a little fast, I hope you don`t mind, as I am getting on a bit and like to see the detail better!!!

Hey and thank you. The tool i am using in this video is a dremel 3000 with an flexible extension shaft and a sanding drum. It works well for me, but i will invest in a more powerful tool in the future

what type of sander are you useing? if it is a sander. im a beginner at carving wood and stuff and ive used a jig saw before and a sander belt at school in the shop but nothing like what your useing, i would really appreciate it if you could possibly tell me what that is so that maybe someday i can get the same type of thing for myself. :)

That is not whittling
I love the video however I cannot say that I like the peace to the fullest because it is not a true Raven. A true Raven has Diamond like feathers while a crow has more rounded off feathers like the one in your video. It is still a great work of art however it is not technically a raven.
