Douglas Olariche hails from Egbu, near Owerri, the capital of Imo State. Owerri ladies are known for their first-class waist gyrations (avu ukwu). Here, Olariche dancers have succeeded in blending tradition with modernity.

This has reminded me of my stay at Comprehensive Secondary School, Egbu ,Owerri in the 70's. Ederi Chukwueke at Umuayalu village, please, carry go. Your talent is from God and you really used it to make us feel real good while schooling in that blessed town. Godly Chukwueke, my fellow student at that time, a member of this group, I greet you ooo. This Pedro on the line. God bless Owerri people.
