You're right. There are pretty much two categories in each class (and sometimes gender). The individual stories themselves, and then how much they relate to the overall story. For the overall story, I feel that the Human Noble tell the least amount of the overarching lore but has some of the more heartwrenching moments, the death of your family and eventual faceoff with Howell. For just pure rage the Female City Elf takes the crown for me as it's SO satisfying to kill the Arls' son in his little cell... After talking him into giving you his chest key, of course. For the main story these running throughout the games, I can't agree with you more on the Dalish Elf as you just get SO much lore right off the bat! Sorry, I tend to blather on as CZcams is about the only place I can about DA.
Thank you for the great video and I hope you have a wonderful one!

Oh, yes, this was why I returned to the human noble a lot back when Origins was the only game was the story around the noble. I still remember being so happy about confronting Howell and when the female elf could make decisions regarding what happened to her.
Never fear "blathering" I enjoy reading viewer comments and the longer the reply the more I get out of it. You're thoughts on the games matter to me or I wouldn't ask for your opinion in the video. I read every comment I get. Just because I don't reply to them doesn't mean, I'm not reading them and enjoying them.
Thank you for taking the time to comment.

For me the Human Noble is the Best Origin. It makes the character the most connected to the (political) setting, to Ferelden. It is (as far as I know) the richest origin in terms of genealogy, and connects to the Fereldan historical events from prior times (from Couslands kneeling to Calenhad the Great, through the Second Orlesian Occupation until present day). About the occupation..
The Human noble has ties to various characters from the Fereldan political stage (From Howe himself, to being an heir of a Teyrnir, and of an ancient House, granting the Couslands more legitimacy to rule Ferelden than to Loghain and Anora).
Idk, I simply can't roleplay the other Origins with the feelings HN gives me.

    my ranks
    1. Human Noble - lore wise you are the most connected to all the main human antagonists that are not dark spawn, & the realm of the land.
    2. City Elf - Because it shows you how Dark this setting is
    3. Dwarf Noble - Because I felt like a real Noble, people did what I asked, and if I wanted someone to get an accident it happened.
    3. Dwarf Commoner - Shows you how life in Orzammar really works
    5. Mage - Least connected to the land, & story
    6. Dalish Elf - I hate this because the dev team just came out, & said this one is canon, for dumb reasons in that Merril had the mirror in the 2nd game, & that your warden died with out doing the Dark Ritual. If you wanted the Warden to die then have the Ritual not work, or don't give us the option to save our character, or some other warden, but no, they gave us the illusion of a happy ending, because they don't/will not do anything with the Warden in any future games at all. Even though that Old God baby could have massive lore buffs, & plotlines, but nope. Lore wise Dalish Elf wouldn't give a damn about some human lands, & "flat eared" elves.
Now I did get very angry at the end, because I love the world of Dragon Age, & it kills me that for no reason our character the Warden is "dead", aka your choice didn't matter when Bioware said they did. In the 2nd game we got Marty Stu Hawke whom can resist blood magic, even if he isn't a Templar, or a mage, than some how get the respect of the Arishock one of the 3 leaders of the Qunari, can be a free mage, no Templar's are smart enough to grab him even after showing magic, &/or blood magic in front of a bunch of scared nobles. and the worst thing they did in Dragon Age 2 was take Ser Pounce-a-lot away from Anders.

Lore-wise I liked the Dalish just for what they brought to the story. But, I liked it best for the equipment when I was running a rogue.

Dwarf commoner is probably my personal favorite just because of how relevant it is for a good portion of the game even after completing the intro arc. Your sister ends up marrying Bhelen (confirmed in Dragon Age 2) if you side with him and is the best argument for doing so in comparison to all other Origins which makes the Dwarf Commoner unique as it adds to the story and gives the player a different perspective, one which you wouldn't likely develop unless you played this origin.
Also, the writing itself is above and beyond most other stories and truly makes you feel like an underdog who is pulling themselves up by the bootstraps despite having their face shoved in the mud since their birth which is appealing from a roleplaying perspective as nobody wants to play a spoiled brat who lived 90%+ of their lives in opulence prior to a singular unfortunate occurrence arising.
I'd certainly say that Dalish Elf comes VERY close though in regards to overall quality of the writing and arguably has a better gameplay experience but contains far less dialogue and intrigue in favor of a singular jarring event (your childhood friend vanishing in a mirror).
Those two origins are far superior to the rest for sure, played them all who knows how many times but these ones always manage to keep my interest while the others flounder rather quickly by comparison.

Fun fact if you choose the mage origin you are the cousin of Hawke in da 2 and it makes it even better.

This list is so weird to me because it goes against the general consensus that Dalish Elf is the worst origin. Also why is having multiple races in one origin a bad thing??
    Here's my list:
    1. City Elf
    2. Dwarf Noble
    3. Dwarf Commoner
    4. Human Noble
    5. Circle Magi
    6. Dalish Elf
