If you can't afford a serger, you can also trim it with scissors. I know time-consuming, but that's what my grandmother would do. The sewing machine was an old push pedal machine that was basic. I hope that helps.

Thank you!! I've been trying to teach myself to sew since the 80s, I'm 45, with absolutely no luck! I can hand sew, but I gave up since i really wanted to use a sewing machine! I could never get my bobbin and thread to work well together! Just got my mom's sewing machine and am aready to give it a spin again!! I got a 5 year old grandson who has an imagination out of this world, and we have a ton of creations to create 🥰💜❤️

Yes! Sergers are quite expensive. I only got mine after I was certain I really loved sewing and knew I was gonna get my money’s worth!
