Thank you so much for your videos! Watched a lot and I did my research. But I'm still confused. I bought the AHA BHA peeling solution, hyaluronic acid, alpha arbutin, caffeine solution, niancinamide zinc, argerline solution, peptide and lastly retinol. I just threw everything in my basket went ahead and bought it, didn't know there is so much to learn! So I have this routine now:
    Morning:
    - cleanser
    - caffeine solution
    - argerline solution peptide
    - alpha arbutin serum
    - hyaluronic acid
    - moisturizer
    - spf 50
    Night:
    - cleanser
    - rose water
    - alpha arbutin
    - niancinamide zinc
    - retinol
    - moisturizer
and once a week the AHA BHA > hyaluronic acid, niancinamide zinc, moisturizer. I have to say, my face can handle a lot. I don't feel anything with the AHA BHA peeling for example.
But maybe this is too much I think, I do not know how I can change it up and which products work best with each other and how to combine.
I hope you can tell me if I'm doing something wrong or if I could change anything.
    Love from the Netherlands!

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  Před 3 lety

Yes, 😀 Correct 🙂 This may already solve it. If you use Niacinamide, you may have to add an additional moisturizer, not sure if the plant-derived squalane is enough.
Or add a toner before hyaluronic acid, maybe the Enriched Calming Toner from Paula's Choice. 🙂
But you need to test it, but I can recommend a toner, works very well for my dry cheeks!

Yes, because The Ordinary changed the conflicts list a few times. It used to be fine to use Niacinamide with Derivatives, but then they changed it.
It does not cause any irritation when using them together. Some people like to combine them in the same routine and enjoy it. However, I guess it isn't clear what happens when using them together as you may lose the benefits of one or the other.

also do u think the map in that moisturizer would interact with the ordinary peptides serum :(
if it helps here is the ingredients list of the moisturizer:

There are many options. I love LA Roche Posay Toleriane Ultra Fluid and Cream. But you can use any moisturizer you like that's suitable for your dry combination skin.

Hi melissa! Plz tell me if this PM routine for acne is correct or not:
    1) Cleanser
    2) AHA BHA ( the ordinary twice a week)
    3) niacinamide daily
    4) Duac gel
    5) aloe vera gel as a moisturiser.
    6) rose water spray.
    Plzzzzzz reply

The setup looks a bit weird but apart from that, I recommend not using Duac Gel after the AHA+BHA peeling solution as that is a very potent combination. Instead, use it on days when not using the peeling solution. Also, twice a week is a bit too much, it works well at the beginning, but over time, you need to decrease the frequency.
My advice would be like this:
PM1 (once or twice a week):
      Cleanser
Wait 5minutes for skin to dry
      AHA+BHA Peeling Solution
Optional(Rose Water Spray, not sure if you really need that)
      Aloe Vera Gel
      PM2 (Rest of the week):
      Cleanser
      Niacinamide
      Duac Gel
(Optional Aloe Vera, but also not sure if you need it in this routine my advice would be to first try it without)
Also, keep in mind to adjust it accordingly to your needs. So if you feel that the frequency of Duac gel is too much reduced, the same goes for the peeling solution.

      Hey :)
You can use Niacinamide in the AM and/or PM depending on your preference. Use it after Hyaluronic Acid. Also, Niacinamide and BHA can be used in the same routine :)

Hello! Can I use an AHA+BHA serum (not The Ordinary) together with The Ordinary Niacinamide?

Hey there ^ . ^ I recently purchased the ordinary niacinamide, along with the FAB coconut cream. I noticed I am getting pilling mostly in one area of my face. Are these not good to use together? Do I need to use them seperately, or should I wait for them to fully dry and maybe I’m just layering them too quickly?

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  Před 3 lety

Yes, some products can pill because of the formulation. However, often people use too much. So how many drops of Niacinamide do you apply?
