I relate to this so much as night I feel the most safe and like I can't finally breathe. It feels like I am free of the contraints of life. Everything is still and quiet and I escape. The moon comforting me while everyone else is asleep. Sometimes I wish the night could on forever. Logistics aside and reality side.

As a kid, the moon helped distract me from life for a minute. It’s almost as if it made me feel like I can stop and take a deep breath and just forget about everything. I genuinely loved the moon. It was like my closest friend that helped me through some very scary and challenging things. On nights of full moons, I would stare into the sky just talking to the moon. But as I got older, I was barely able to see it from my work load in school progressively taking up more and more of my time. It sounds so stupid, but this gave me that exact same feeling of having a friend that can just listen to my worries. Like a hug from someone you miss, or like the first semi-warm day of the spring. I miss the moon. I can’t wait for this summer to start so I can finally spend some time with the moon for the first time in a couple of years. Thank you for this video.

I live in an area where there's barely any light pollution. The night sky is so clear. You can point out all the different constellations. Watch the stars twinkle. On the night of a full moon, everything is lit up in shades of blue, and if you look up, you can pretend you're up there with her. I may not like this town, but I will always love the night sky it gave me to remember.

Certain parts of this state do have light pollution, like the bigger cities, but suburban neighborhoods usually only have house lanterns and street lights giving off light so it doesn't really build up. My street though is one of the most clear because the lanterns are motion activated and there's no street lights on the road so its dark enough that you can see EVERYTHING. Became tradition to me and my siblings to say "Orion's belt" when we saw the Orion constellation whenever we got home late and we would all look for it around us.

That sounds so nice dude. I grew up loving space and astronomy, but I live in a place that doesn’t have as clear skies. I remember the first time I went to Yellowstone NP when I was younger- and I was just amazed that I could actually see the Milky Way stars. I think that lit something up in me to make me appreciate and learn more.

I've been there. Sleep it away and if you feel anxiety rising up again, don't be afraid if anything run towards it. Fear/avoidance/safety behaviors only feed into it. Ask to "bring it on", "whatever", "so what" and accept the sensations... when you float with it it quickly collapses and within seconds like a thought it can disappear. If it is past this point in a panic than not much you can do besides practice response prevention - like staying where you are and riding it out- make sure to reward yourself plenty of positive reinforcement anytime you do well or do your best. Standing your ground against fears takes courage and bravery

personally, the moon acts as a reminder that beyond the place that we place our feet on, there is much much more out there and virtually infinite more other places that are true as ours. you need instruments to see the surface of other planets but the moon is right there.

In my grandparent's town, during summers, the moon is so bright that it lights everything up with silver blue colour, there's so much light it almost feels like someone turned on a dim lamp. I can read books under the light of the mooon and the stars. No one understands why I spend hours at night whenever I visit, but I dont care, it's the most magical scene ever.

I've had the same experience on an island in Micronesia! The moon was full and had this silver ring of light around it. It bathed everything in a surprisingly bright glow, I walked around our town, it was beautiful

I suffer from OCD and the stress it gives me is just torture. I wish I could stop doing these weird things against my will and just go to sleep without intrusive thoughts. But lately listening to the ambience of this video helps me to focus on something peaceful and kinda even sets me free.

You're not the only one, honestly. I don't do anything physically compulsive, but I get ones mentally that twist me up and make me feel sick. Like Nocturnal, I get the same thing of feeling like I'm becoming dumber from them and becoming absolutely horrid. But I'm trying to cope and I hope that, whatever it is that keeps looping for you, it gets easier to deal with if not leaves you alone completely.
Using this to help me write. I’m working on a book called “Artemis and The Moon” it’s one of the few ones I’m fairly proud of. In this universe the stars are people and the moon holds a temple inside it where all the constellations and their people live. The stars are majestic people with long white horns, feathered wings, pale grey skin, and green or blue eyes. At night their skin glows a magnificent white and they are fueled by the power of the moon. The constellations guard the stars, and instead of being “alive” the constellations are stone soldiers that stand taller then any being. In order to make these majestic beings God made the most beautiful, most elegant woman he had ever sculpted and named her Mahina. From then on Mahina created the constellations, and formed the stars and together they became known as “The people of the Moon”

I've always symbolized with the moon, I never knew why but when I look at it its just so breathtaking every single time, you know I heard this quote that said that even when the moon is incomplete its still beautiful and someday that's how I want to feel, content, breathtaking, beautiful even when I feel incomplete.
This scenery makes me think about what it would be like to go back in time to my beach field trip, in my 6th grade body. I’d be more confident, but also more alone internally, and would probably find a way to look at the moon that night instead of sleeping. And I’d hope for some person to walk over to me that can relate to my feelings, knowing they’re not going to come, and probably don’t exist.

to anyone seeing this: imagine yourself sitting on the roof of your home; its 12pm, dark outside, but there is a warm breeze that passes by you often. you lay down on the roof placing a pillow before your head, and look up at the huge moon sitting there in the night sky. its almost lonely looking, entrancing you like its giving a ominous plea for love. the warm breeze perfectly brushes over your body and you drift off thinking about the moon, and its image lulling you into a perfect, regenerating sleep.

Growing up, my family has always obsessed with the moon. Anywhere you went it was like there was something to do with it in the house. Probably has something to do with it being our family name, but I just think we were weird lol. Nonetheless I always resonated with the bright, pearly space rock, and am very thankful to be able to gaze up at it whenever possible. @nobody I just got out of the ER for an abscess behind my tonsils and while I was recovering and waiting on pain medication to kick in (getting lanced and having a drain cut in ur throat are AWFUL) , this mix was one of the only things that made me feel better.

Being a dustance runner, my favorite time to run is when there is a full moon.
I live in the countryside withfew street lights, and in the "dark areas" when the full moon is out, it is my companion who lights up things for me to see.
The winter is soecial due to snow being all around so there is plenty of light to see.....

My life’s been pretty hectic and stressful bc of school (I’m a senior so) and I was so exhausted and burnt out that It got to a point where I’d literally not comprehend anything I’m reading, I lost my appetite and my stomach would hurt like hell bc of how stressed I am. Despite all that, I wasn’t really getting satisfying results and my parents never acknowledged how hard I’m trying and would put more pressure on me. It got really hard for me eventually and I just couldn’t breathe anymore. I felt miserable; I couldn’t bring myself to study anymore and my parents continuous lecturing made me even more miserable, I felt useless and helpless. This playlist helped me so much I just laid on the ground and played this for hours and hours. I can’t really describe how it felt but I felt like I was floating, it was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever experienced. I think this will become a core memory for me. Every now and then when things get too stressful I play this and just de-stress and think about nothing at all. Thank you so much for this playlist

this is the exact view my boyfriend and i had the night he asked me to be his girlfriend. after a year and a half of losing touch after high school, and reconnecting for 3 months, i was hesitant to say the least. but i took a leap of faith and 3 years later, we’re living together. if there’s one thing i would go back and say to myself on this night, i’d tell her “there’s going to be a lot of trials and tribulations throughout these next few years but take them in stride and you will be so happy you did”. and i am. but i also wish i still was the same person. i wish i still had an individual, unique identity. i quit my job recently and it’s not that he’s mad, if anything, he’s very understanding. it’s just caused such a disconnect between us. which i feel is my fault. i want what we had three years ago. i want to be there all over again. i cant believe im saying that after working so hard to get to where we’re at. im so depressed and i know that he knows. i just wish i was different. love is so incredibly beautiful and painful at the same time. it can teach you things but it can also break you down into becoming the rawest version of yourself.

I stand at the edge of a large cliff looking at the sea. It’s a full moon, and the sea is a bit restless. Reflections of the moon’s eerie light shimmer on the surface, entrancing me with it’s hypnotic movement. The moon watches like an onlooker, from a distance. I am at peace in this moment. My worries seem redundant with this eternity of motion and light in front of me.
The moon is singing a song only heard by a few. It’s a sound most beautiful to the detached wonderer in life. A calm settles when the song is heard, reaching to the depths of consciousness and soothing the bristles in the mind. Like an affectionate mother, the song caresses and envelops the listener in a cocoon of it’s own making. Muscles relax, the stomach seems to unclench, limbs become heavy and the mind is focused on only calmness. This is peace.

Some peace for a moment. I need my sleep but as many here I feel safe in this embrace. I'm non stop panicking and crying for days now. It comes and goes in life. I love this. The most beautiful moon I've ever seen was quite recently. I work at night, it was the first day of wearing glasses. I stepped outside and saw what was the brightest, clearest, most beautiful moon I'd ever seen in my life. I stood there outside of my car for awhile just soaking it in. I was told later it was a Super Blue Moon so it *was* a special moon and not just my glasses and new eyesight, but it sure did help. Crystal clear.
I love this commenting community! I read a post I can no longer find online about how the moon has always been one of the longest mysteries of humanity. It pre-dated all life on earth, was seen by every living species that ever came before humans, and since the moment humans could fathom the sky, people have tried to understand it. From the first humans who told myths about it, then built stone structures to align with it, to sailors who used it to navigate big wooden ships, every war and every romance happened under the moon. And after thousands and thousands of years, this quiet glowing orb who has been around to witness our entire history, in these last 70 years humanity finally reached back out and touched it.
The most replayed moment is around 6 hours and when I put this one to fall asleep I woke up around that time. Seems all of us aren’t getting enough sleep

I used to lean out of my window, especially on nights with snow on the ground, and watch the moon for awhile. It just made me feel calm, safe, and made the noise in my head shut up. It still has that magic, and I’m working on a little interpretation of the moon as a character so I can try to draw exactly how I felt thanks to the moon. I hope I can do her justice

Once i was at the beach and my grandfather told me to look at the moon. The night was clear and calm with the soft sound of waves hitting the beach in the distance. The moon was the biggest i have ever seen. He told me it was a super moon and explained what that is. He told me to never forget that moment with him and i never have. Sometimes i look up at that moon and remember that night long ago.

Luna. A truly interesting thing. It was most likely created from a huge collision Earth had with another planet. Despite this, it now appears beautiful in the sky, illuminated by Sol. Sometimes it's only slightly visible by a sliver or in the blue of midday, but other times it shines brighter than anything else up there. All of the stars are so pretty too, paired with our moon.

The moonlight shined bright onto our faces as we sat along the shore, nothing was said between us, only the ocean singing its beautiful voice. sand slowly crept up to our feet along with the waves, crashing into the shore, we would flinch to not get our bodies wet but then soon accept it, our pant legs would get soaked and turn a slightly darker colour, it was a nice cool feeling against our skin, reminded me of camping and fishing trips with my family, we would stand by the ledge of a bridge, we thought it was going to be hot out, so I wore shorts but turned out it wasn’t. My legs were cold the whole time, but I still enjoyed myself. Fish flew through the dark sky as we reeled them in, I would get my parents to take the hook off for me since I was too grossed out of touching the fish. Those were great memories; I will always think fondly of them. But I'm older now. I don’t exactly interact with my family as we used to, so we won’t ever make memories like those again. Though I have new people in my life, people I can create new memories with. The ocean crashed against our feet, it got closer to our bodies than before, almost crashing into my stomach, it was cold, but because of it crashing across the shore multiple times, it felt tepid as I got used to it. For most of my life, I’ve been a tepid person. I remember sometime in elementary school I was quite sociable, I used to talk to everyone in my class without trouble but some time before my graduation, I changed, people in my class were taller, prettier; I was in the middle, tepid. Once I got into high school, I was still tepid, I didn’t have many friends but if anyone talked to me, I talked back, I was quite desperate for friends though I never made any attempt. I’m still in high school, but I've found myself to being more social than before, when did it start? When did I begin to be antisocial? I guess it doesn’t matter right now, I have my boyfriend next to me after all.
Her physique was beautiful, her face was beautiful, everything about her way; the way she investigated the moon was mesmerizing, it almost felt as if she was in a trance. The waves crashed onto her legs; I could see her shivering, so I wrapped my arms around her to keep her warm. Still, her eyes were fixated on the moon, what was she thinking about? It's none of my business but I find myself to being curious as to what has her like this. I don’t want to bother her though, so I stay still and keep quiet, this reminds me of the last time I saw my mother. I was set out to leave the country to fulfill my dream of being a chef in a big city, I hugged my mother as she gave me her farewell, I could tell she didn’t want to let go, I asked her if she was going to be okay since she had a disease but she kept insisting for me to go, I could never tell what went on in her mind, I wanted to stay with her forever but my dream was bigger so I left. Though unlike that memory, I won't ever leave my girlfriend.
“Thinking about it, life is quite small isn't it.” I broke the silence between us, it's like the ocean understood and kept quiet as well. He looked up at me, “Why do you say that?”
“Well, we’re already in our twenties, it feels like we just met yesterday when in fact it actually has been 10 years.” My boyfriend looked down, he seemed to be thinking about something. “Yeah, those have been great 10 years.” I feel like there was something more he wanted to say but I left it.
“Those 10 years went by in a flash, it's quite scary thinking about how fast it'll be before we catch some sort of illness and pass away at an old age.” I never liked thinking about things like this, but it always caught my mind and I found it interesting at the same time. “I hope this moment never ends.” He held my hand and we looked off into the ocean, the waves crashed and made beautiful sounds, just as he said, I too, hope this moment never ends; but it haunts me that it most certainly will.
We looked off into the ocean for a while, time didn’t exist right now, all time was, was her and I.
In-between that moment, I stopped holding hands and stood up, “It is getting colder, why don’t we head inside?” I reach my hand out to her and she takes it while nodding at my request. It was an uncomfortable feeling walking back to my cabin with damp pants, but we made it there just fine. She took her pants off and just left a shirt and undergarments on, I guess the water also made her uncomfortable. I took mine off as well, I did get a bit of water onto my shirt, but it was fine as it wasn’t too much, so I kept my shirt on. We got comfortable under my bed sheets; the warmth of her body next to mine was an unforgettable feeling as she latched onto me burying her face into my chest. I hope tomorrow goes well.
He was warm, so warm. Keeping my face buried into his chest like this was restricting my breathing but it was okay, the closer I am to him the safer I feel. I need to cherish this moment, after all, I knew what he did. Due to some circumstances, the trial was postponed to tomorrow.
I couldn’t sleep, I feared what was going to happen to him if he was found out, all I can do is hope for now.

Cale looked up at the night sky. The waves lapped against the stark black shore, cooling the stony beach. The call of nocturnal animals echoed off the cliff walls. He inhaled and exhaled. A deep calm, deeper than the deepest blue of the deepest ocean, washed over him. It penetrated his consciousness and rested there, like the root of a seedling tree settling in his mind. He smiled. Heavy tears rolled down his cheeks. He felt the motion of the waves rock him back and forth in his mind. Eventually, they lulled him into a dreamless sleep, and he thought no more of the sickness clouding his mind.

when I was little, I loved the moon because I thought it followed me everywhere. on long car rides, I would stare at the moon, watching it and thinking that it was following me. I enjoyed those days.
