Maggie Koerner is an American singer/songwriter from Shreveport, LA currently living in New Orleans, LA.
Koerner grew up in Shreveport, LA and graduated from LSU Shreveport in 2009. While serving as a waitress in Shreveport, she uploaded performance videos to CZcams, catching the attention of producer and drummer, Brady Blade. Blade produced Koerner's first album, Quarter Life, in 2011. Shortly after, David Shaw of The Revivalists saw Koerner perform in Shreveport and convinced the singer to move to New Orleans.
In New Orleans, Koerner wrote her second LP, Netural Ground, and shortly after, caught the attention of the New Orleans-based funk band, Galactic. Galactic recruited Koerner to be their lead vocalist for 2013 and 2014. She also recorded on the Galactic albums Carnivale Electricos and Into the Deep. Koerner went on to perform with other acts such as Charles Bradley, Trombone Shorty, Widespread Panic, and Gov't Mule. (Courtesy of PeoplePill)

Maggie blew me away when she sang with Galactic in Jacksonville, Oregon. Wow. It was so powerful. These few songs of hers are just so different. Heavy. No percussion, not beat oriented. So not rockin', and not catchy. Personal, darker. And now blonde. :) Still, I'm glad she's doing her own thing her way, and making it. What a voice.
I think that last song could grow on me. Feels so emotive, almost raw. I enjoy watching how she moves.
My favorite part of this video is watching the guitar player trying not to get smacked in the head by Maggie's wild guitar playing :)
