Such a sad and haunting tune at the start and then it picks up to give you hope, much like John Rambo's life. Searching aimlessly across America, without purpose, then he hopes to see his friend and fellow vet and bring a momentary piece of happiness into his life. Then it all turns to tragedy. No one could better encapsulate all these emotions in one compostion than the master, Jerry Goldsmith. Rest in piece good sir.
Well said man you should be a novel writer yourself. Although I have tried to read first blood and I can’t I love the movie too much and it’s so so not like it I can’t get past the first chapter.
In the book even if Rambo kills so many people but still you feel remorseful for him much more till the end even if teasle becomes sympathetic in the end it is Rambo who is the victim glad that Stallone changed the story in that era ptsd was never understood properly in that era so people would never understood what David morell 's novel would mean in 1972.
My brother loved this song, He died a Hero in combat this yr, he took a bullet for a civilian. Leaving a 3 month old baby girl, a 11yr old daughter a new wife and brand new house. I play this song for him at the Veterans cemetery, he died for this Flag. God bless all you warriors, ask the Lord Jesus to be your savior before you enter your next battle please. God bless
That is right up there with the second movie when the Col asks Rambo what he wants. He says, "I want what every guy who went over there and spilled their guts wants, that our country would love us as much as we love it." I heard that Vietnam vets cried in the movie theater when they heard those words.
This music is a tribute to all those who have seen and the face of war. For all people fallen at war. Love and respect to you ! Thanks Sylvester for this role as Rambo. You are the best !
Company leader to identify Baker Team: - Rambo, Messner, Ortega, Coletta, Jurgensen, Berry, Krakauer confirm! This is Colonel Trautman. Talk to me, Johnny.
They should make a miniseries, each guy signing up, making it through basic training, Trautman picking them out like Lee Marvin in Dirty Dozen. Then their time in Nam.
i have done some fun rambo tribute videos lately. and i was saying those words in the intro. i seen this comment and thought i might let you know i do fun rambo videos in the mountains.
Tough to listen to. What a great movie. I feel for all those war vets and front line responders , going through a lot of pain. Hang in there and don't give up. There is a solution, it might take sometime but you'll get there.
My alarm sound on my phone, for many years now. First Blood came out in 1982 the year i was born. One of best movies ever created period, the book tho is much darker, seriously worth a read. "THEY DREW FIRST BLOOD NOT ME" This for me is Stallone's finest performance alongside Rocky of course, but John .J. Rambo just edges it...
+kenshiro katana, thank you SO SO MUCH for reminding me !! How inconsiderate of me... I am so ashamed... my apologies :( I hope you are pleased with how the kitchen & house look now... I cleaned everything right away :) Have a good day, Sir !!
+kenshiro katana What is your problem,? I happen to be a veteran and you can go take a good shit for yourself. You've got better things to do with your time
Watching it right now on Sundance. Sly Stallone, Brian Dennehy and Richard Crenna in their prime - Jerry Goldsmith was such a MASTER. Ah, just had a thought - yep, Goldsmith and Crenna were together before... "The Sand Pebbles."
"NOTHING IS OVER" 'NOTHING' "YOU JUST DONT TURN IT OFF" .. . The theme song the first; The Beginning. " FIRST BLOOD " was and always will be special to me where it hits home a time a chapter in life back when! THANK YOU ROCK'SLY'RAMBO for all your hard work and creating Thee' Most Awesome Inspiring character that has been apart of my world my imagination and inspiration. Both Rocky&Rambo to me are ONE PERSON ! LOL ! Put together my own personal story how John James Rambo first fought in the Vietnam War and later on became a professional boxer. Lol. Too Awesome ! & The last film was killer! The people that criticized are obviously not a true fan!! "CUZ THATS HOW WINNING IS DONE" !
The theme that kicks off the entire Rambo franchise!! When I first watched the opening I was confused why there wasn't all those company logos/intros and it jumps right into it with this theme but it makes it memorable!
When I was a kid I lived on a hill and I used to go through the fog into the woods on the fog imitating Rambo who was my greatest hero I had my sorvivor knife and a toy rifle was the best time of my life still watch the movie sometimes
I wanna go home Johnny, brilliant musical score and a brilliant film, sly stallone at is very best, God damn where have all those years gone was 20 years old when it was released in 82. Let it go.
So underrated actor! To me his best performance ever, much better than the rocky saga. Sly should’ve had an oscar for FIRST BLOOD….soundtrack, masterpiece, photography masterpiece, script masterpiece, leading role and secondary actors also paramount, all in all should be kept in our memories for good.
Imagine jumping off a shear Rick wall because you're being chased by the good ol' boys with badges and guns into a gorge of trees skewing your arm on the way down to the ground! Galt tried it but he didn't make it, he hit rock bottom!! Lol. PUN INTENDED ! Lol.
Mr. Goldsmith really wrote a great score for this film.
It's sad how the Sheriff picked on him and brought the beast out of him he was trying to move on from his past
Nothing is over... NOTHING! You just don't turn it off!
♫ If I could turn back time to the good old days ♫
What about an iron after ironing????
You asked me I didn’t ask you. Over there I was in charge of million dollar equipment over I can’t even hold a job parking cars!
One of the most iconic soundtracks ever produced

good words soldier! #salute#
Well said. I must have listened to this song over hundred times. Tragic but inspiring.
"Live for nothing or die for something"
My dad used to say that phrase alot, I still believe I'd rather do something meaningful before I die
The heart breaking emotion in this instrumentation is epic and timeless.
Too nostalgic
✋
The most painful part is stallone growing old and in the last years of his life now. 😔
My brother loved this song, He died a Hero in combat this yr, he took a bullet for a civilian. Leaving a 3 month old baby girl, a 11yr old daughter a new wife and brand new house. Sorry for you brother, man.

Tribute to all Vietnam soldiers who were abandoned when they return...
Jerry Goldsmith is soooooo missed! His soundtracks epitomized excellence.
This music is a tribute to all those who have seen and the face of war. For all people fallen at war. Love and respect to you ! Thanks Sylvester for this role as Rambo. You are the best !
Jerry Goldsmiths music for this saga has gotten me through some hard times in life.
Company leader to identify Baker Team: - Rambo, Messner, Ortega, Coletta, Jurgensen, Berry, Krakauer confirm! This is Colonel Trautman. Talk to me, Johnny.
They should make a prequel to elaborate that back story
theking
Not Berry. He made it!
k2datrack Yeah they should. Would be awasome!!
They should make a miniseries, each guy signing up, making it through basic training, Trautman picking them out like Lee Marvin in Dirty Dozen. Then their time in Nam.
No names in the Radio!
oh man, those violins, those chord progressions, those epic ups and downs.. chicken skin right now
SergioWW1WW2 Goldsmith was awesome.
Goldsmith really nailed this one. Emotional!
One of the best Indeed.!
i bet you would like the new vid i did today then. in my rambo coat and rambo music.
In town you're the law, out here it's me. Don't push it, don't push it or I'll give you a war you won't believe.
Awesome line. Epic.
And what did the man do? He pushed it
The dialogue I'll never forget

"THEY DREW FIRST BLOOD NOT ME"
This for me is Stallone's finest performance alongside Rocky of course, but John .J. Rambo just edges it...
An outstanding piece of music. Incredible.
In the climax scene Stallones has proved that he is a good actor.
He had already proved It by 1976 on Rocky, but I got your point, First Blood's climax scene was supreme!
He proved with before in a very talkative role such is Rocky, and proved it again in a silent role, a man with few words that is Rambo.
😭😭 memories I'm about to cry
I listened to this title both sung and instrumental over a dozen times and I am still listening like i have never heard it before....✨
Same here bro, that. 45sec hit me so hard
I remember my father who passed away, he's my hero he do whatever it takes just for the family.
