Please do one on the Pacers defense. I feel like they are undersized and they try hard on defense. But teams keep running through them.
That’s exactly their problem they aren’t big enough but man they’ve definitely been doing better with effort on defense
The Pacers players want to increase their income. How? Improve their stats. How? Play at a faster pace.
In order to keep the pace fast, the ugly truth is a team will give up quick shots on purpose, encouraging the opponent to shoot sooner, instead of running the clock down.
The faster the Pacers "allow" opponents to shoot, the sooner they get the ball back, which is the main goal.
The faster they "allow" opponents to shoot, the more possessions there are.
More possessions = more scoring opportunities for everyone.
Right now, the Pacers are... sacrificing(?)... defense for quicker pace, because they'd rather score 118 and lose than score 107 and lose.
It's virtually impossible to have lockdown defense and fast pace at the same time.
If you play lockdown defense, and the OPP uses up 20 seconds of the clock a lot, you end up with 2004 Pistons scores. 89 - 77 scores.
Players will low averages and there will be... NO SUPERSTARS.
In order to have a faster pace, a team HAS to GIVE AN OPP QUICKER SHOTS.
On film, after the game, a gazillion CZcamsrs groan:

It's nice to see yourself and a lot of ex-pros talking about and analyzing the game in such a casual and relaxed way. I didn't watch this game, just saw box scores and saw they got torched by Kelly Olynyk. I understand every guy that steps onto an NBA court is probably the top 1% of ball players in the world, but this was a near full strength Detroit squad vs Jazz's B squad. Eye opening how bad they are defensively.

Bro I grew up watching the pacers squad with Hibbert, so it's nice to see some content from him. It's interesting to see how NBA players interact with each other off the court, definitely a lot of NBA/Basketball podcasts are blowing up. It would be cool to see you maybe talk with some other NBA/former players.
The Pistons drew the toughest opening schedule in NBA History. Combined with injuries and illnesses, I see this as the reason for the Pistons losing.
Vegas ODDSMAKERS Projected the Pistons to have a 6-23 record at this point even if fully healthy.
Injuries account for the 4 less wins. Losing streak is how the cards fell.
yes defense is the issue. I see other teams getting in our face manning us up all the time, but yet we dont do the same except for ausur thompson. Also they penetrate too easy. They need to focus on limiting a team by PRACTISING different defensive schemes. Most important is limiting drives into the paint.

Bro Wiseman got no defensive awareness, I dunno if it's him or his growth really got stunted back when he's in the Warriors.
Man his intentions are good. For me I had to be put thru the fire. N you will learn. I had that opportunity maybe he hasn’t yet despite how high he was drafted.
Roy after 30 games, surely the coaching staff are pointing these things out during film sessions? It just seems like basic team defensive rules aren’t being talked about. The lack of urgency and effort is even more concerning.
They need more big men, the team seems really short on the PF and C positions which causes part of their defensive issues
biggest problem with them is probably that they look like if you took 5 good players and threw them into a gym, they are all playing on their own and theres no team chemistry
You look at this team on paper, and it really doesnt look like they should be losing this consistently. Especially when compared to awful teams of the past like the 2012 Bobcats. Those guys definitely didnt have anyone nearly as good as Cade on their roster.
I think this really speaks to how absurdly good the league has gotten over the last few years, as well as how the youth of this Pistons team is often hurting them more than helping them. One great example is how they always seem to run out of steam in the 2nd Half of games.
Even if this roster is far better than that Bobcats team. This is giving me eerily similar vibes to how that season went.

About that play man. I feel like alot of great offense players dont try as hard on d. Back 10 15 years ago defense was just as fun to watch as offense and players put pride in defense.😊
I think it is about the same. The big difference is that since there are FIFTEEN players, foul trouble is kinda new territory.
Teams and players are really trying to avoid foul trouble early.

Bruh you need to suit again your defense can help them win a game
they're way more talented than the sixers team whose record they're bout to break, it's so strange. and i think cade is a stud and they have some building blocks, their roster construction is just so clunky and bizarre and doesn't work at all and clearly has chemistry issues. i don't know what the fix is, but i don't think they're incredibly far away from building something promising they just have to figure out who to build around and who to move on from and put better pieces around the guys they choose.

The Pistons PERIMETER shooters (floor spacers? 🫤), Bogdanovic, Harris, and Morris have been out.
I don't think any Coach, GM, or Owner could have done better. The "streak" is poor luck.
When scores are in the 120s, of course defensive mistakes are made. Every team makes about 40-50 defensive "mistakes" a game.🤣😅
