Ligurian Border Ridge Road / Ligurische Grenzkammstrasse / LGKS (Aug 2015)

We did the the Ligurian Border Ridge Road (Track of the Marguarei) during our South West Alps Trip in August 2015. This is one of the most spectacular roads in the world - 65km of off-road on old military roads. Not particularly difficult to ride but very dangerous. Steep cliffs directly next to the road are common and you need to focus all the time to not make any mistakes. Definitely not for the faint-hearted.
This was my wife's second off-road year with 2 off-road trainings and 2 longer off-road tours. She did great by being very careful and respectful on these tracks.
The views on this road are unbelievable and spectacular. Worth any angst sweat you might get while driving it.
Our whole tour led us over the alps in South Tyrol over Timmelsjoch and Passo Stelvio down to Genova and Savona - then the Ligurian Alps, the Maritime Alps and the Cottian Alps - all off-road paradises - and back over the Graian Alps with the Col de l'Iseran and later the Mount Blanc to the best hotel location ever at the Grimsel Pass with the Grimsel Hospiz.
8 days and 2.750km of riding.

Habe da jetzt zwar keine "offroad-Strecke" entdecken können, aber wahrscheinlich ist eine nicht asphaltierte Straße gemeint - auf jeden Fall eine tolle Strecke für schwere Enduros

Eine wunderschöne Strecke, atemberaubende Landschaften, kan man mit normalen reifen fahren ? mit welchen reifen sind sie gefahren? Grussen aus Belgiën

Normale Reifen gehen bei trockenem Wetter. Wenn Strecke feucht oder nass, dann kann ich das nicht empfehlen. Manche Stellen sind mit Straßenbereifung sicherlich etwas problematischer - sehr vorsichtig sein empfehle ich. Wir hatten TKC80 (GSA) und Heidenau K60 Scout (GS).
