Father Mark - your Homily could not have been more timely, relevant and appreciated. This was exactly what my son and I spoke for two hours about last night. He and his family are walking through the valley - he’s returning to Confession this weekend and back to the Church, reflecting that he recognizes after MANY tribulations, that there was a hole in his heart where Christs church was. The Holy Spirit had to have brought this Homily, this day, at this hour to this family by His intervention. Thank you so much.

Thank you, Father Mark. This was exactly what my soul needed. Lately I have been tormented by sins from the past, which I have confessed, but I have not been able to let go. Yesterday was a particularly bad day, and I prayed for relief. Your homily was a blessing.

@@bajone02 Yes! I'm saying "Jesus I Trust in You" in response to many difficulties as well, and for many reasons. I love "Divine Mercy in My Soul," by St. Faustina and the Divine Mercy devotion is so important, so NECESSARY! For me, at least.

Thank you Fr. Mark! I like to use the image of closing a door on the past. That way, you can’t see the past because the door has blocked it from view. Looking over one’s shoulder at the past, be it metaphorically or physically can leave you feeling unbalanced and unable to think or walk straight.

I think we spend a lot of time looking backwards because we don't know what the future holds, but we know what happened in the past. It's difficult to think about something you don't know.

I need this Father. I constantly fight thoughts of the past. While wishing my ex husband his 81st birthday a few days ago, I got sad. Sad that we divorced and sad for the past years I’ve wasted living in the past. It’s so hard to forget because there were many good things about it as well as many bad things. I want to move forward. Fr. Goring humanity is losing itself in the urgency of a few workers, but how great is He to those who lay down their lives for the harvest of the Lord in His Vivid Spoken Word? "Then He said to His disciples, 'The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest'” (Matthew 9:35-38)." There is no logic or intelligence in the world but wisdom to teach with your sermons and sending deep messages to souls trapped in pain and by the past, Glory to God! /2

I must have been dormant, lacked understanding and not hearing His voice growing up. Yet, the conviction of His vivid word and experience by testing His word. "Yo soy el SEÑOR tu Dios, quien te sacó de la tierra de Egipto. ¡Pruébame! Abre bien la boca, y verás si no la lleno. ¡Recibirás toda la bendición que necesites!" ( Salmos 81:10). So why are so many churches so backwards
Kindly inform us if the Readings/Gospel is today's March 8, 2024? It did not match with other RC Holy Masses. I even went on March 7, but only the First Reading is Jeremiah's and still, the content was not matching. / Or, just kindly, give us the verses of Jeremiah that you are at, please? My inferior opinion: it really depends what past one would like to forget? (1) Maybe, remember NOT one's individual past sinful self, or, remember not the past that was already Confessed, and move forward. That action is very true. Should I ever remember my past sins, for mortal sin lingers in about 7 years, to remind me to be humble, be more understanding in admonishing others, to not to go to the same path, and have fear of LORD GOD! / (2) However, when some people LIE and entices others to believe in a LIE, Revelation 3;9, ISAIAH 1;21, Rev 17;1, then, we must study the past Old Testament and bring the TRUTH to LIGHT! / Many in my family did not look in the past Old Testament Bible, as a result, they all became Fallen-away Roman Catholic.
