This week we made a beautiful and super sharp machete knife from old bearing. You should own one as it is very useful to bring with you when you go camping during the holiday or work in your farm. How sure are we that it's really a forged machete fron an old bearing? The way the handle was haphazardly done is a give-away.

Saludo , desde República Dominicana, el machete estas muy bien hecho pero el manúvio estas mal porque no soporta que golpee con fuerzas no es durable
Ahi está el detalle , demasiado debil el mango o agarradero.
Lo mismo pensé, cuando pegue 3 machetazos se le sale la empuñadura!!!!

blade looks nice, not fancy, definitely looks like a tool to be used for cutting...
my only problem with it's construction is all the CA glue, more/better effort at cutting/forming the handle instead of filling in gaps with CA glue would make for a better machete imo

A full tang would've made it way stronger.. This is nothing if done a strength test. But a beautifully made piece

As far as my understanding goes bearing houses are casehardened mild steel.How it made with somuch temper is a surprise.Tempering was not seen or have I missed it?Any how good operation............thanks

Every part is good except that it is not full tang? The anchorage into the promel is not good enough for longivity of the knife.

Great idea, and I have a huge hearing I could use, BUT,,,how do I make a forge? And why fake the tang rivets instead of use real steel?

I don't have enough tools for designed handle, hence I changed it. Bearing is harder. Thank you.
