343 Industries released their full update for the Master Chief Collection that improved the overall experience, as well as enhanced all the games to 4K 60 frames per second. We've done Halo so many times already, but we had to do it again with this update! So we just had to do it once more =)

I prefer the less emotional and quieter chief, I feel like halo 4 and 5 just had a little too much talking and exposition, what made chief so cool in the first few games was how little he talked, he was mysterious, badass, gave short one liners, there's a reason there's no quotable one liners in halo 4 and 5, because he talks so much, nothing stands out

In the first few halos before halo 4, master chief was just barley building his impervious reputation. Everyone knows him as a mean, green, and invincible covenant crushing machine. And chief is all for it. One liners and badass attitude included. But after the events of halo 4 and the loss of Cortana paired with the events of halo 5 and infinite is where Master Chief really shows his human side. The side that’s separate from his military machine like persona. In the end tho it really comes down to which chief you prefer tho
Affected him alot. He lost his best friend in 3 then Cortana. And even after all that he still does his duty as a spartan. The Chief is indeed broken and its sad. I loved Infinite but I honestly needed more. I need context on what happened on Zeta halo and Cortana. Hologram images isn't enough for me.
@@gordonmadrid1938agreed. I think the chief cortana story was the center of it all and you felt chiefs loss. Halo 5 should've told that story better (although, still wasn't bad) rather than making you play as a random spartan and leaving the cortana chief arc in the last act of the game. In infinite they just filled you in on what was missed instead of letting you play through it. But still, I loved 4, 5, and Infinite

Actually what the didact says at the end has been a retrospective to the time when the pre humans (ca. 100.000 b.c.) colonized and invaded other planets because they invented a parasite that forced them to flee from their home world. The forerunners didn't want humanity back then kill other species to grow more and more. The forerunners recognized the parasite just after the almost-extention of the human race. They only left a little amount of primitive living individuals on a planet called Earth.

Halo 4 giving Chief more of his personality from the books was a blessing. All the people who bitched online are responsible for him being dumbed down in 5. I hope to God Chief is like this again in Infinite, ya know an actual character. Halo 4, underrated as fuck

No, 343i was responsible for the handling of Chief's character in Halo 5. They developed the game and wrote the story, and sold it to the public. To say that the fans were responsible for the writing of the story would be a lie, as they weren't the ones who put the pen to the paper and made the characters the way they were in the game.

In the games the master chief is supposed to be you. If he has to much character then you can't be him. In the books he's supposed to have character so there's conflict in the mind and characters. In the game you are in charge of what chief does, you are chief.

Halo 4 is personally one of my favorite games growing up.
I understand the cristism for Halo 4 but not the fervent hate. I honestly felt like it pushed Halo into a new narrative direction.
Halo 5 took a lot of that back unfortunately. To their credit, 343 does genuinely listen to the fanbase. Sadly, the fanbase is extremely undecided in what it wants and is now seeing Halo 4 as the great it was.
I will add that Halo 4 did miss the classic theme. One part I say hurt it.
I just don't like that the chief has more personality, he used to b a husk that anyone could fit into but 343 messed that up. I still like halo 5 but not the campaign, but the ever changing multiplayer modes and variety make it fun to play.
@@Vash_Carrison Having the classic theme would subtract it from what it is. The new theme reflects what the story is telling. The original Halo games were about action, saving the galaxy and being awesome. Halo 4 is about Cortana dying and Chief trying to cope with the fact. The older themes were always awesome and intense because that's what was happening most of the time.
I still maintain that Halo 4 is a good epilogue to the Halo series

This game has a special place in my heart. From the graphics, to the story, all the way to the music. This game is amazing. Plus Del Rio got some balls for yelling at chief.
How terrifying a villain you have to be to say some shit like "Time was your ally, human. But now it has abandoned you. The forerunners (I) have returned." A wasted villain. So much potential!

You know what I love about Halo 4? The sound design, the score, the cinematics and the palpable feeling of loss. Seems like the purists got too comfortable with the idea of Chief being an unstoppable badass that they were afraid of seeing him in a less glorious light. This game does an excellent job of humanizing Chief on the notion of failure, Chief and Cortana actually lose battles in this game, like people do in their daily lives. This game is not perfect, but I had so much fun with it nonetheless. It's a damn shame combat can evolve, but not the player base

I really don’t get the hate for Halo 4. I get the hate for halo 5 but not Halo 4, it had such a good campaign, and it’s art style is not as bad as halo 5, it kept some of the military look from Reach. Halo 4 is one of my top 2 favorite halo games, the other is Reach, I’m split between those two

If you actually analyse it it's quite bad. Covenant weapons and humans weapons have always have their own groups of strengths and weaknesses. The introduction of the new Promethean weapons are pointless and are more human weapons re-skinned than anything meaningful. Also go play through I think the 3rd or 4th mission with the tank. You literally go in a single straight path and in the mantis it's more linear paths. Look at halo 1,2,3. Once you get a vehicle the world opens up. Not in halo 4. This and many many other things like Telegraphing are all bad in 4.

Here are the three main changes I'd make to Halo 4:
1. The conflict of Captain Del Rio vs Master Chief. Del Rio's arguement was that the Master Chief was growing too old and senile, and thus his service has become increasingly obsolete. This is a weak argument, as Captain Del Rio supported the Master Chief in driving off the Didact with a Mantis. A captain who trusts a spartan with that firepower only to accusing him of hallucinations is contradictory. The way I'd write it, is that he argues that he is overly concerned about the well being of his ship, of which he has spent nearly his life investing his efforts on, and declares the lives of Infinity matter more than the Master Chief's mission.
2. The Didact's backstory. The Librarian reveals she was the mastermind behind the Ark and the Halo Rings, and planned for a new species, the Children of Forerunners known as mankind, to repopulate the galaxy once the flood was eradicated. The Didact disagreed as he argued that the Mantle belongs only to the Forerunners. In order to make them immune, he'd imprison his own kind in exoskeletal bodies of which we know as Prometheans which caused a lot of infighting, and civil war. Once the Didiact had become imprisoned, the Forerunners were hopelessly outnumbered, so they went along with the Librarian's plan. This sets the state for a philosophical conflict.
3. Cortana. First off, she isn't some eye candy to satisfy the viewer. She's her own unique individual, even if she is a machine, who is capable of reason and logic. In the story, I'd write the more rampant she becomes, the more she questions what it means to be human; to be flawed, something that the Master Chief hadn't asked himself in a long time.
Love the young Wynona Ryder's resemblance on Cortana's face for halo 4...

You know, it's amazing how beautiful the art style of the 343 halo 4 is...yet, it's still out of whack an janky as hell. Like, it's trying to fit in despite all of us knowing it doesn't fit in compared to what we are used to with halo 1-reach

I never thought about this, but the recent halos with 343... they don’t have beauty. I was wondering why everything felt so dreary in Halo 4, and it’s basically because you’re in this blackish gray volcanic world. Halo 1 was stunning, especially when you first drop onto the ring. Halo 2 felt dreary at first, but as soon as you reach Delta Halo you can see a stunning and vibrant environment. Halo 3 had so many different areas, a desert, earth, cities, it was a amazing, especially the assault on the tower against the Prophet of Truth. Reach was beautiful too, but 4 and 5 have none of that

It combines organic and technology together. It was used by Forerunners to combat the Flood. Basically It turns people into the things you've been fighting throughout the entire game.

I think it's because certain parts of Halo 4's soundtrack is copyright and not in youtube's algorithm. I think it wasn't in this vid because the person who made it was aware that it was copyright whereas other youtubers weren't and they put it in their videos.

Halo 4 is basically filler, change my mind. What really changes? He could wake up from stasis without Cortana and the story would be basically unchanged. The story writing is bland and generic. The villain is uncompelling and uninteresting. Flat character with no meaningful traits and a name that doesn’t really convey anything about the character. Like all their money got spent on graphics instead of making a game that means something.
