I’ve been playing golf since I was about 5 years old. Now 39. I’ve always struggled with cupping of my left wrist, being too steep, and as a result standing up and throwing my hands at the ball to square the face. Never changed it due to lack of coaching and bad coaching in high school and college. I was able to get away with it more so when I was younger but my game has started to lose consistency and I’ve lost distance I once had. I began looking for golf instruction content online that would help me self diagnose my issues. I found this channel about a month ago and I just found the right string of videos that spoke to me. Love watching his videos as his teaching style just works for me and he knows his shit. Watching a number of his lessons on setup (this video), right arm at setup and during the backswing and other methods to shallow the club at the top and creating a flat left wrist. This has done wonders for my game and I’ve been excited to get out and play more as I have something to work on. No longer feel trapped in the same issues I’ve been dealing with for years. Best golf instruction content on CZcams by far.

I am not a frequent golfer and do not practice more than four times a year, but this channel has inspired me to change all of that. It is the greatest learning channel on youtube in my mind, just superb!

THAT was probably the best video/explanation of why we/I early extend I've seen, brilliant. Start at the root cause 👍👍

Man… I was an all conference NAIA level college golfer. I’ve played some pretty good golf in my life. But my swing is long and handsy. Now at 34 with 4 kids, my swing started to fall apart because my practice wasn’t enough to keep the timing right.
Your teaching of connection from chest/shoulders/hands is revolutionizing my swing. It’s giving me power and consistency. My wedges are better than they’ve been since I was practicing hours every day. Love how much every lesson builds on the the same basic principles of the swing over and over. Thanks for the great content!

Amazing video. Rethinking the distance away from the ball has improved my ground contact, face control, and even fixed some back pain I’d been having. Thanks Adam, you really teach simple concepts in a way that resonates with me.

Great youtube channel.. Really appreciate all your content and that the tips are being implemented by your students. It really helps to see you explain it to them and walk them through their own process of making the desired change.

This is exactly my problem. I knew i was standing too close to the ball but as I try to reach other, i ended up putting pressure towards my toes. This video address the hip position relatively to the ball of your feet, this is what you should start with for somebody who stands too close to the ball. I wish this video was released earlier. Good job Adam!!!! always love your contents

Perfectly reinforces what I recently learned was wrong with my setup. It felt strange at first, (like in video) like I was way out in front of my feet...but struck the ball in middle of clubface and felt like I had so much more room for downswing and am able to stay down/on top of ball now.

Been watching vids since the start and so many have been lightbulb moments. When I go off track slightly there's always something I can pick up. I will use this routine to ensure my set up is on point, as I was also guilty of falling too far back then crunching my lower back 🙈

Man, I've been playing golf since 2020 and played baseball throughout my teenage years... I've also had a nagging suspicion that setup was crucial and if I couldn't sort that out I had zero chance of repeating a decent swing. My friends that have played for years couldn't help me out because they play by feel and have played so long they couldn't break that down for me. Your videos are like music to my ears!!!

Hi great stuff, A comment about club lie angle...if your bent over more how will this affect standard club lie angles. For me it feels as though the heel is low..ie toe up a bit..my clubs are for fit for 5 11..i like the sole of the club to be flat with the ground ?

This early extension is plaguing me right now. Great timing for this video. Do you think playing too heavy a shaft could lead to early extension. Or is that an excuse for poor technique

Very interesting. I can't help but think that a John Dalyish physique couldn't play from that position because of their weight distribution. They'd fall over forward. I've never seen an instructor address that - even though over 40% of the US population is Obese. Seems to me there Have to be different positions (balance points) because we know that there are some fantastic obese golfers in the US Amateur and Pro ranks.
