It can be a jarring experience to see the very first game from a well known dev studio. Sucker Punch Productions has put out many great games like Ghost of Tsushima, Sly Cooper, and Infamous. This is their very first game. I'll give you a hint, it's no accident they made so many good games.

Some of the textures look like they just ripped them straight out of Mario 64.

I really like the marble run idea, especially the excited commentary on top. Hopefully there is some variety in marble tracks.
I like this approach to picking games. If you did this randomizer with numbers instead of titles, then we could get that classic "what is that" 😊

What the hell..? How have I never heard of this?! I've literally scoured through the list of all [English] N64 games to look for hidden gems, and this one never even registered on my radar! Maybe I passed it over because the name is kinda lame? Idk.

This and Space Station Silicon Valley I had never heard of.. Tried both and they're both 8 or 9/10. Damn good games.
If you apply numbers to the marbles instead, you can still use the "What's that?" line.
This game is SO good. It's easily one of my favorite title of the N64. Such a hidden gem.
Its really amazing to see how one goal, "beating every n64 game", has pushed Than to learn:
-video editing, from short to long runtimes
-the japanese language
-internet arachaeology (to find guides)
-managing a community

4:43 that is actually a classic carnival game called cat-rack. there's a lever that resets the cats after the player tosses all of their balls. it's kinda like knock-the-bottles-off-the-table but different.
Marble race good idea. I dunno about that kill jump at the end tho haha maybe something a bit more pachinko-ish? Or Peggle-bucket-like.. Let's you see what's at the end but still adds an element of randomness

You mean the synopsis videos, like this one, right? The VODs, featuring the full streams and located on his second channel "ThaBeastPlays", are only half a year behind with the next game having been streamed starting at the end of July '23. However, he took a break for quite a while, so in March those VODs will be barely more than 2 months behind. There's also the spreadsheet linked in the description if you're fine with spoiling yourself on the progress.

Man, this was a childhood favorite of mine! My friend and I would spend HOURS driving around on the Dune Dog and making random rollercoasters. One of the few games as a kid I recall getting 100% on. It was also special in that it had a red cartridge, and probably part of the reason it stood out to me as a kid.
I'd been waiting for when the marble races would start! So excited to watch them!
