At long last, Rivals of Aether has announced their second guest and final character in the game: SHOVEL KNIGHT!
I love that game so much, so I'm so excited to see him brought to Rivals and given JUSTICE with an incredible move set! He comes out later this Fall!

All the characters in rivals would be S tier or A tier in smash if they were put in with no changes because the game itself is meant to be faster and more technical
So all the characters were balanced around being all equally OP

well he's pretty new he first debuted in 2014 and i wouldn't consider him worthy of fighting with the big boys when he only had like one game, compared to someone like bomberman who deserves a spot in smash considering that he's pretty classic and even had a crossover with wario. And he doesn' have that much histroy with nintendo, i dunno i just don't think he deserves to be a playable character
You know he's the first indie rep to actually make it into Smash? Even as an Assist Trophy it is quite the honor.
Thought in terms of platform fighters (other than Smash, no one tops Smash) I was a Slap City guy but if my blue burrowing boi is in a game I'm damn well buying that game

To be honest...I was expecting him to appear in this game. It isn’t a surprise, it’s more of a “Does YOUR indie game have Shovel Knight?”. The reason why in Ultimate worked because we didn’t expected indie representation in a Smash game.
Same. I'm not excited for him in the slightest, would MUCH rather have had an original character, or at least something less obvious. At least his artwork and animations look nice i guess.
I actually wanted the Hyper Light Drifter or Gunvolt but oh well,least SK's sprites look cool.
