  • Sodium-glucose cotransporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitors is a new class of Oral Hypoglycemic Drug. Usually this category of drug is known as Gliflozins and use in the management of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus. Recently, few drugs under SGLT2 inhibitors recommended by EU in the management of Type 1 DM along with insulin.
In this lecture we will cover the following topics:
    1. Sodium-glucose cotransporter (SGLT)
    2. History of SGLT2 inhibitors
    3. Chemistry of SGLT2 inhibitors
    4. Mechanism of action of SGLT2 inhibitors
    5. Uses of SGLT2 inhibitors
    6. Risk of SGLT2 inhibitors
This is our 7th lecture on Diabetes Mellitus & Antidiabetic Drugs.
