How to Make Instant Pot Chawanmushi (Recipe) 茶碗蒸しの作り方 (圧力鍋) - Jak na to + styl
This is one of my favorite instant pot tricks. I use chicken broth and whatever leftover protein and veg is in my fridge and serve for breakfast. Not nearly as elegant but an excellent leftover makeover method.
Indeed!
Her shirt matched the little bowls! So cute! ☺️💕💕
Hello 👋 how are you doing
i attempted this recipe for the first time today and it was a success! i used only one egg, and scaled all other ingredients accordingly because i only have 2 very small ceramic cups meant for dipping sauce. steamed them for 10 mins and done! i will definitely get proper ramekins and make this for family & friends :)
That first scoop breaking the surface at 4:18 was a stunning shot!
I love chawanmushi
Yep, that was totally the best part of the post. Thanks for all your work lately.
I love love love.. This video because your not baking or steaming in a pot but it's in the multicooker.... How awesome is that.. It fits in my daily life!
Thank you for sharing! I was an exchange student in Japan for the summer and this was my favorite!!
I make this recipe every two weeks now! Your method is foolproof!
I first tried chawanmushi in NYC ten years ago, at Tomi Jazz. Was very happy to find this recipe here - it is delicious!
this is one of my favourite food. i just moved to the uk from hong kong. japanese restaurants are hard to find here and only a few of them have chawanmushi. in hong kong there were a lot of it and i really loved the one from yoshinkya. i won’t be able to eat that anymore but thank you for this.
I don't have an instant pot, however the instructions on your blog to use the other methods were very clear and easy to understand. Thanks!
Glad to hear that my instructions are clear. Thanks so much for your kind words.❤️

Awesome recipe
Definitely a favorite childhood memory, my mom didnt have that fancy cooker she just used her oven and it still came out great!
That's true. In Japan (and some Asian countries), most people don't have an oven, so we make it in a steamer or pot. I have those stovetop recipes on my blog too. :)

I haven't had this custard in a long time. Perfect for my new instant pot. I think Daiso would sell those lifters for the pots. Thanks Name for another wonderful recipe.
Hope you enjoy making chawanmushi in your brand new IP! The lifters are from a Chinese grocery store. :D

Yes ok , very delicious soup, i like very much,
Thank you so much for this recipe :) This is a god sent recipe. However, I’ve discarded mirin because I am a muslim but it still tastes exactly like the ones from the Japanese restaurants. Such a simple recipe you will definitely succeed on the first try. I’ve made this about 5 times now and the only thing you should worry is how long you should steam it. Check regularly if you’re worried 😉

What an interesting food. Reminds me of (a smoother, fancier version of) steamed eggs I get at some Korean restaurants
Yeah it’s similar to Chinese one too. We all have similar foods.
Wonderful Nami, this is such a tasty dish, can't wait to try it. Thank you so much for this video, have a beautiful day and thank you for the Japanese word at the end, this word I did know only because my son speaks fluent Japanese and he tells me different words all the time. See you in your next video.
